goldiehound
Six Flags Florida Escape Feel free to right any comments. If you want to see videos of rides serach goldiehound on youtube and go to the channel. Shot0352.bmp It is November, 1973 and Orlando, Florida is getting a new theme park by Six Flags. The park is going to be called Six Flags Florida Escape. As you can see, a parachute tower is completed. Shot0342.bmp The station looks very nice along with the brick borders. Shot0343.bmp I think the entrance looks very nice. Shot0344.bmp The seahorse fountain looks nice. Shot0345.bmp The waterfall by the parking lot looks cool except I don’t know why they need the fencing. Shot0346.bmp Signage has yet to be put up. I think the park is making good progress for the opening in 1974. Edited May 2, 2012 by mcjaco
simaticable
I would like to tell you that you spelled Florida wrong. Anyway, good start, but I want to see some rides.
goldiehound
It is January 1974, and the park is coming along nicely. Shot0349.bmp A log flume, a train ride and a tilt-a-whirl have been added. Shot0348.bmp A small antique car ride is now at the park. Shot0262.bmp And the Runaway Mine Train roller coaster. Shot0261.bmp I think the park will be ready for opening day. Runaway Mine Train POV: A.J. says: Please use tags to embed YouTube videos you would like to share. Edited May 2, 2012 by A.J. simaticable
Add some scenery to that coaster. It looks very bland without it. Also, buildings need more detail than a huge box. I want to see more buildings from this park. Variety of land is also a good idea. An entire park is not green. Put some colors in there and put different color and sizes of trees. A week is probably a good idea to spend on the park before providing an update. It allows you to look at what you have and see how you can improve. What I see from this park is no effort. I just see random rides planted at random places without rhyme or reason. This park has potential, but I must be shown effort in order to give a more positive review. Don't be discouraged and keep at it. I am not trying to be mean, but I want to see what you can dish out when given not having this park updated every five minutes. simaticable Edit: 200th post! goldiehound
The park is farther along with trees and paths. The park is almost ready for opening day in my game. The P.O.V. for the Runaway Mine Train is up on youtube just serach Six Flags Florida Escape. I'm using old pictures now.
Ace Of Spades
The P.O.V. for the Runaway Mine Train is up on youtube just serach Six Flags Florida Escape. Or...you could just embed it in the thread so everyone could see it...maybe? Park's not looking half bad by the way, certainly has a better start than some Six Flags parks have on the boards. I'd agree with the poster above me who said the mine train needs more scenery though, it is looking rather barren at this point.
A.J.
Or...you could just embed it in the thread so everyone could see it...maybe? Done! You should change the title of that video, "Florida" is spelled wrong there as well.
goldiehound
What would you want to see in the park for opening. Give me some ideas for restaurants. Edited May 2, 2012 by goldiehound
A.J.
Uh, when I embedded that video, it most certainly had "Six Flags Flordia Escape" in the title, because when I searched Six Flags Florida Escape it didn't come up. Don't give me that crap. Also, please address all three issues in a single post, rather than triple-posting to get your park bumped up. This thread is just a few seconds away from being locked. Ace Of Spades
What would you want to see in the park for opening. Give me some ideas for restaurants. Come on, I'm sure you can think of at least one restaurant idea yourself! If you're really stuck though, go look up some info on Six Flags parks in the 1970's and see what they actually did. After all, if you're gonna build a 70's Six Flags park. at least be somewhat historically accurate to what the parks did at the time, otherwise your timeline just serves as a frame for your posts and does nothing but hinder. goldiehound
It is two weeks from opening day. A lot of rides have come to the park since when I last came in Janurary. Shot0353.bmp Welcome Back! Shot0354.bmp A new flat ride called Scrambler opened up. Shot0355.bmp A restaurant named Pizza Place and a bumper cars is now at the park. Shot0356.bmp A new ride called the Thunder Bobs is testing, Shot0357.bmp There is tea cups now. Shot0358.bmp Runaway Mine Train is testing. This arrow classic looks fun. Shot0359.bmp The fountain and the new Corner Cafe restaurant. Shot0360.bmp It's been a nice day in the park. Tune in tomorrow for the grand opening. Ace Of Spades
Starting to look fairly good now! Looking forward to seeing the park expand! All I'd suggest now is a bit more varying terrain (the park is, as of now, somewhat flat) and maybe a few covers for the queue lines (it is Florida after all, in the real world it'd get mighty hot). netdvn
Just throwing this out there, but the original three Six Flags parks were based off of the "six flags" that flew over each state that a park was located in. the themes really aren't as generic as they are today. If you're going for an Orlando area theme, I'd recommend adding some palm trees/trees found in that area of the world. While the park is an OK start, it would really benefit from doing research. The parachute/flume/mine train combo is pretty spot on so far.

coastin
The park name doesn't seem like you came up with it yourself. Sounds like you took out the word "Great" and threw in "Six Flags", for example my last park, "Florida's Great Escape". I know i'm not working on that park anymore but, come on. Any ways, your park doesn't fit the Six Flags name. Also take a shot at custom scenery, unless you're making this a non cs park. Another tip is, try taking pictures at different angles. Adds a ton of realism.
goldiehound
And I came up with the name 100% Six Flags Florida Escape is now OPEN! Shot0368.bmp The park started to fill up a couple minutes after opening. Shot0372.bmp Parachute Tower was running right away. Shot0376.bmp Everglade Auto was working nicely. Shot0377.bmp Parachute Tower in the background Shot0378.bmp Those are two happy riders Shot0384.bmp A full house on Six Flags Railroad Shot0386.bmp The Tilt-A-Whirl was great! Shot0391.bmp The American Carousel Shot0394.bmp The Florida Splasher was a relief on the hot day. Shot0396.bmp There goes the Runaway Mine Train Shot0380.bmp The firework display was great, Have a great day!
molemaster43
I am still not feeling Florida. Spice up the land a bit. Change the color of it a bit and it should look much nicer.
goldiehound
The ground doesn't look muddy when I make it look like that, it makes it look a really dirty green. Edited May 6, 2012 by goldiehound
coastercrazy 9
When you take your pictures name a peep David Walsh, and press control u. It will remove the user interface.
goldiehound
The David Walsh trick did not work. Welcome back to Six Flags Florida Escape! Look on youtube for the Florida Splasher POV Shot0414.bmp I came a an hour after the park opened. Shot0417.bmp Two rides on the Florida Splasher cooled me down. Shot0418.bmp I hopped on the train over to Parachute Tower. Shot0419.bmp I love how you can see the whole park from the top of the Parachutes. Shot0421.bmp I stopped in on Corner Cafe for some lunch. Shot0422.bmp I love their burger, fries and mikshake combo. Shot0420.bmp I went to Everglade Auto's next. Shot0424.bmp I ran over to get a ride on Scrambler. Shot0423.bmp After I got a couple rides on the Runaway Mine Train. I love this view of the lift and station. Shot0425.bmp I went on the bumper cars next. Shot0427.bmp I went on the Tunder Bobs. Shot0426.bmp I got some Cotton Candy from Pizza Place and left. See you next time!
coastin
David Walsh does work. Open your park, then after a peep enters the park change their name to David Walsh. After you've done that, hit Control U. (Or what ever the key it is on a pc, I'm on a mac. But I believe it is the control key on a pc)
goldiehound
Welcome back to Six Flags Florida Escape! Remember to look at the Florida Splasher video on youtube. Shot0431.bmp I came in the afternoon for a short trip. Shot0432.bmp I ran to get a ride on the carousel. Shot0433.bmp After I went to the Tea Cups Shot0434.bmp Since I didn't have lunch, I went to one of the three restaurants in the park. Shot0440.bmp I ran over to Everglade Autos. Shot0441.bmp I went to Runaway Mine Train for a few rides. Shot0442.bmp On my way out, I went to the Parachute Tower and I saw a red tower. coastin
You should really add scenery around mine trains drop into the water. Also, terraform around the edges a bit, it looks like the water will over flow in a light rain fall.
