canada Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Anybody else here watch hockey? Whats your favorite team? Player? Is anyone sick and tired of the hype surrounding Sidney Crosby? And last but not least, fan or not you should definately check out this video. One of the most talented (but lazy) players in the world pulling some amazing tricks and scoring amazing goals. I'm telling you its something special. Discuss!
Movieguy Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I'm personally not tired of Sidney Crosby, because as a long Suffering Penguins fan, I'm psyched to see that they're finally winning after all this time.
canada Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 I was refering to the hype rather then his actual play. Hes an amazing player obviously. By the way what did you think of that Kovalev video.
Movieguy Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I'll let you know, once I can connect to Youtube again.
canada Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 What do you mean connect to youtube? You dont need to have an account to watch clips man.
Movieguy Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Never mind...the site was down for a minute, now it's back. Kovalev's a pretty cool player, but yeah, he does need to get his butt in gear sometimes.
CoasterFanatic Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Is anyone sick and tired of the hype surrounding Sidney Crosby? Sorry that we exported your greatest talent of the last 25 years. At least you got to keep Gretsky in his prime. Sidney Crosby = reward for loyal Penguins fans who suffered through some pretty crappy hockey for the last decade
Carnage Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I'm not tired of the hype. He's the best player to play the game in a long time. I just wish he'd stop whining and going down like he was shot when clipped. His diving is taking attention from his skill. Him embelishing hits has to go.
CoasterFanatic Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 ^ Did you catch that game Saturday night?
Carnage Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 ^ I did. Good and bad game at the same time. No defense at all in that game. Though I was glad to get a point out of it. We showed alot of improvement by coming back from that 3-0 lead. Though Crosby really didn't factor into the win at all.
AlmereStars Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 what your talking about is NOT hockey, this is hockey: a sport that's being dominated by the dutch teams and well, to be on topic, i do watch icehockey, and i'm a fan of the florida panthers
Carnage Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 and well, to be on topic, i do watch icehockey, and i'm a fan of the florida panthers Oh, I'm sorry for you. At least you don't cheer for the worst franchise. But you come pretty close.

At least you don't cheer for the worst franchise. But you come pretty close. lol:P i don't really follow it, I just watch some games, and I visited the Florida Panthers once, when I was in USA, so that's why i'm a fan of them
canada Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 Ok now its time for ya'll to watch the Kovalev clip and comment! LOL Seriously watch it you wont be dissapointed!
dandaman Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Sidney Crosby = reward for loyal Penguins fans who suffered through some pretty crappy hockey for the last decade Sidney Crosby = potential reward for not winning a damned Cup since '67 Quick question: What's the word on Newbury? Back in the lineup, missing a few games, or obituary?
CoasterFanatic Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 ^ Aren't you forgetting 91 and 92? ... or do you think that Crosby is a Maple Leaf?
BeemerBoy Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Sidney Crosby = potential reward for not winning a damned Cup since '67 EDIT: Oops, Ted was quicker on the trigger.
dandaman Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I kinda meant the Leafs, and "potential" as in "maybe he'll want a hockey team closer to home someday". Though I never knew the Penguins won it back-to-back.
CoasterFanatic Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 The Penguins might have let a lot of talent leave town, but don't count on that with Crosby. I mean ... Mario has him living at his house for cying out loud. Nothing short of a Canadian occupation of Pittsburgh will bring Crosby to the Leafs.
trustkill22 Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 One thing that impressed me about that video was his puck skills when he had those water bottles and just random pucks lying around and he never touched one of them. Also when he had the three pucks down, everything was so smooth. I wish I could toe drag that beautifully.

Mario has him living at his house for crying out loud. Nothing short of a Canadian occupation of Pittsburgh will bring Crosby to the Leafs. At first thought, that seems a bit odd... why is the kid who's likely getting paid millions living in someone else's house? Is Mario just a really good friend?
BeemerBoy Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Okay, I just watched the video. Meh. In all honesty, the puck tricks were nothing spectacular. The kick was interesting, but that's about it. I'm kind of fond of a little more. Scott "he'll always be a puss to me" B.
