PKIDelirium Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 OK, maybe I'll finally give this Photo TR thing a try for an actual park visit... Uh oh, the meat wagon. Someone got pwnt. Non-Riders? Nope, they got on at the last second. INTAMIN'D InuYasha stuff at PKI??? Uhh, no comment. WTF! Festhaus DDR'D Height Check! Can she drive? Yup. Royal Flush going into Great Wolf Lodge. No lines!
PKIDelirium Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 Text and some more pics. --- Mini TR: Paramount's Kings Island Monday, June 12 2006 "OMG, Beast was better than Vortex today!" Well, it was an interesting day at the park. Met up with Adam, Ariel, Jeff and Gabriel just inside the front gate, and we started around the park. Jeff, Ariel and Gabriel left earler to go watch movies, and Adam and I continued around the park, ending up with rides on most of the major coasters and flats. Ride List: Top Gun Face/Off Son of Beast Adventure Express Flight of Fear Vortex TRTR Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle Son of Beast Drop Zone Vortex Vortex Troika Beast Delirium Delirium Man, Vortex was TERRIBLE. I rode back seat twice. First ride on Vortex was in the back and it was a little rough. Later, rode it in the back when it was getting cooler out and man, that was the worst ride EVER. Worse than SOB, I almost cried. That was TERRIBLE. Got off and rode again in seat 12, where we still got ARROW'D but not quite as bad. I got a 1290 on Scooby, probably due to the fact that my gun was the only correctly working one. Riding SOB a first and then a second time was a serious mistake. RCCA'D. It hurt so bad... FOF was running really well. Ariel and Gabriel rode Skycoaster while we did SOB the second time. Better them than me... I rode it once and it scared the shit out of me, so unless I get seriously talked into it, Skycoaster is probably engraved into my do-not-ride list for a while. Crowds were light, with virtually no lines. This is why I try to stick to Mondays and Tuesdays during daily operation, unless it's an event. Beast ran great at night in seat 12. Glass smooth and no jackhammering, even in the second level of the helix. Tomb Raider still isn't using the separator door between Antechamber and Preshow, so the theming is a little less effective, and there was a wall panel ripped off of the back wall of Preshow. I'll be back at 11 AM Saturday for BeastBuzz. I wasn't originally coming today, but I wanted to get a ride fest in before the long, crowded day of BeastBuzz. I'm liking this minimal lines stuff... Oh shit, snakes on the game!!! OMG 5 bucks?!?
Reon Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 How DARE you defile Vortex? *turns into ACEr Joe* AH PLASE AH CURSE ON YU!!!
PKIDelirium Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 I'm not defiling it at all! I always enjoy my rides on it, and it and FOF tie for my #1 steel. It was just running really brutal today. Makes me wonder if something was wrong with the train I was in.
phazan Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I'm not sure if it is such a good idea to have that picture of you stepping in a place where it says "Do not step". It is probably fine, but the park probably wouldn't be very happy if they saw that. You know what happened to one guy.... And also, they put that there for a reason...
PKIDelirium Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 Oh, I wasn't actually stepping on it. I just held my foot over it to stage the photo. I know, the warning is there so you don't break the fender.
verticalzero Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Thanks for your report, did win anything on the stalls games, great to hear "Beast" is running well I visited the park in 2000, of what I can remember he is my lowdown of the rides: Top Gun - Good ride thought I would go more than vertical sideways on some corners Face/Off - did not ride it Son of Beast - very rough only 1 month old then, why build it so rough with lots of virbration..? Adventure Express - great themed coaster, weird how the lift hill is near the end Flight of Fear - my 1st "Lim" coaster, amazed at the launch to be so strong, more than "Thunderlooper" at Alton Towers UK Vortex - can't remember how rough it was, nice inversions TRTR - No Built Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle Drop Zone - never go on this type of ride Troika - ?? Beast - One of my Fav coasters, it was a wild ride esp at night with no lights anywhere and the stars in the sky. Delirium - Never
PKIDelirium Posted June 15, 2006 Author Posted June 15, 2006 Troika - ?? Shake, Rattle and Roll, a HUSS Troika. It's right next to Vortex. http://extremepki.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/april06-troika1.jpg
ECZenith Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Verticalzero, I feel the same way about SOB. I went the year it opened hoping for great things, and I ended up riding it once. I'd rather have it be half the size but rerideable than a behemoth, merciless death machine. I have this "fantasy" of Intamin redoing the track so it could be more like El Toro but that's definately out of the picture. So much potential... ::sigh::
TheKlockster Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 I'm not sure if it is such a good idea to have that picture of you stepping in a place where it says "Do not step". I took the stepping on the fender pic - and I worked on the ride. I get yelled at all the time for putting my foot on it when leaning over the train. I can be seen in the DDR photo - and the "non riders" photo. We weren't non riders - we in fact were the first ones to get on the ride. We just didn't want to wait in line.
