CoasterExpert13 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Well guys this is my first PTR. I didn't get a chancge to take as many pics as I wanted to due to many many reasons...but on the plus side, i'm going back this thursday, so maybe i'll take some more. Well, myself, my sister and 4 friends went (sadly I don't have a picture of any if us ), we got to the park rather late (about 4:3pm) due to a few slow people I'm not going to mention. It was a semi-good day, It was a bit cold and the clouds were a bit dark. Besides a light drizzle, it didn't rain at all. First, I lost $45.00 on the Swing Shot, only god knows which person in that line got my money. I saw it slip from my pockects, and land it the Sing shot queve. My sister barfed over the side of the Phantom's Revenge, as our car crested the second drop. While in the Exterminator lines (which were extremely long, so a few minutes later we go out) 5 little kids jump the line in front of us, a few people told the guy at the entrance to the Exterminator's tunnel, he just shrugged his shoulders...idiot. While on the Pirate ship, some lady was screaming rather loudly, as I thougt she was enjoying herself. Turns out she was having a panic attack, and boy was she flipping out. Her husband started to scream "STOP THE RIDE!".....The ride operator looked super puzzled, but did so. She got off, shaking horribly as she walked towards a bench. The ride-op gave us another go on the pirate ship. When we got off, the lady was sitting on the bench, I took a looked at her and her face was the brightest red i've ever seen. The paramedics were there just in case. Later I tried my hand at soem games, as you'll see in one of the pictures, I was playing a fish game in which I won a large stuff animal, only to be stolen while on the Pit-Fall (I was dared by my sister to get on). Nearing the end of the day, we got a few rides in on Jack-Rabbit, Thunder Bolt, Racers, Phantom's Revenge, Swing Shot, Pit-Fall, Pirate Ship, Flying Carpet, Exterminator, Bumper cars, Wipout, The Whip, Volcano. Sadly, the King Kahuna and the Areo:360 were closed. Our last ride of the day was on the Phantom's Revenge, because being a sunday, the park closed at 10pm...it was 9:44pm. Being the last few people in the Phantom's station, we pleaded for the ride ops to let us get two more rides in until it was exactly 10pm. they id and it was so much fun, I hadn't realzed how fast the Pahntom's Revenge seemed at night. Well we got our cotton candy and then headed for the park entrance. All in all, a good day. On to the few pictures that i've gotten to take..... The fish game that I won the big stuff animal on..that some one then stole while riding the Pit-Fall. at that concludes my PTR! Random picture of a fountain. Frech Fries, Cheese & Ketchup....Yummy!! Another Thunderbolt picture. Lost Kennywood Entrance with Phantom's lift hill towering over it. A bit of the second hill in the background. The Flying Carpet, always a fun and pleasurable experience. It always claim people's money, and it didn't let me down. I found a few dollors and plenty of change as we got off. Took this as we were leaving the extremely long lines. You can only see a little portion of the people the were there. The Swing Shot. This was taken while on the wave swinger, mid-day while it was gloomy. It didn't give me that "stomach churning" feeling like I thought it would, but it was fun nontheless. Surprisingly fast & high. It claimed my $45.00 The Ice Cream. A Hot-fudge parfait with choco-jimmys. Looks like it's only hot fudge...needs more vanilla ice cream..oh and carmel. My sisters and my firends decided to go ride Thunderbolt, I wanted to take an Ice cream break and take few pictures. The are on this train load in the front. This was taken going around the bend before the Double Dip on Jack Rabbit. Weird, it looks as if I was standing next to the track when taken. You just can't see the train is all. I took this picture while on the Racers. I was in the front of the green train getting beat on by the blue train as you can see. Phantom's second drop, and turnaround behind The Turtles. Pit-fall is in the background. Here's a picture of the Phantom, mid-day...looks a bit gloomy and crowded for a sunday huh?
kennywood!007 Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Awesome PTR! I love Kennywood, its such a great park. Patatoe PAtch fries! OMG, that made me hungry. Looks like you had fun, and you were totally right about the Swing Shot!
CP_RULES Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Looks like you had a good time, I need to get out to Kennywood someday....maybe when I go to SFGAdv this summer I can make a stop (it would be on the way as I live in Missouri). I bet some person was happy to get that $45, thats quite a bit to lose!
DenDen Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Groovy PTR! I prolly wont go back until a new major attraction, which will probably be the new land expansion/coaster.
