Neogreeneyez Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I'm planning my trip to a bunch of parks during aug. I wanted to know is CP really crowded on saturday's? That's when it's looking like I'll be hitting the park and I don't want to be in a really crowed park with crazy lines. So is saturday a good thing for CP or no? Even further info it's saturday the 19th of Aug. Thanks in advance Neo
coasterbilly Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 i havent been there since 2000, but the park is usually balanced all days, saturday can be quite busy, or it might not be, i'd give it a shot
Neogreeneyez Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 I think I will. I don't know if I'm going to stand in a 5 hour line for TTD though lol. Does anyone know a good run through of the park what I should hit first and stuff like that?
coasterlover420 Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Dragster dead first, MF second, Raptor 3rd, and so on...
RaptorBoyASU Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Ok, yes a Saturday in August will be SUPER PACKED. If there is anyway you can go on Sunday instead, do it. The park is usually about 1/3 to 1/2 the crowd on Sundays. In fact, they were usually the least busy day at the park. Hit the front of the park in the afternoon, start at the back. You may want to hit TTD first, since the lines will be crazy. Then hit Frontiertown, and the middle section of the park before moving on to the front. When I worked Raptor we would have a 45+ minute wait all morning, but after 3pm, the line would usually be in the 10-20 minute range. Same with the back in the morning. You can power ride Magnum when the park first opens with a platform-only wait.
Neogreeneyez Posted June 6, 2006 Author Posted June 6, 2006 I have a choice either to hit CP on saturday or Kings Island on Sunday or vice versa. I can switch them up and go to KI on sat. and CP on Sunday but will KI be as crowded or would that be a better choice? I know KI doesn't have as many coasters but I'm not sure. The sunday CP visit sounds really tempting though...
SpartanTS Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 I hit Cedar Point last year on a Thursday in early August, and the most I waited for a ride was 1 hour for Mill Force & Dragster. Dragster would have been quicker if it weren't closed for half the day. This year, I may go on a Sunday because i've heard that the crowds can be considerably lower. It's trial and error when you're not a local resident. They usually know for sure what days to go and when not to go.
jamesdillaman Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 As someone stated above, I'd hit TTD first. Whatever you do do NOT wait for raptor in the morning, as everyone goes there first when they pass it right in the front of the park. Do it later in the afternoon when everyone's riding my lovely Magnum! mmmmm, Maggie I'll be riding you next week, I know you can't wait! -James Dillaman
