phazan Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 So late last night I got home from my awesome DLR trip. It was a trip the school band took to the Magic Music Days at Disneyland. It was really cool, I got to do a lot of stuff, and I had a lot of time to spend at DLR. Friday the band went to a place called ''Medieval Times.'' It's a big castle and in the middle is an arena where the people put on a show for the audience. They feed you dinner also. I liked it, it was pretty cool, but I just didn’t really like being in a loud place when I had been staying up till 2:00 in the morning the night before. But it wasn’t too bad. Friday, we also had a clinic and festival we performed at. For the clinic we went to CSU Long Beach. I really liked that place a lot! It had an awesome room that we were clinicked in, and a giant pyramid! It also had escalators! The big blue pyramid was probably the best part. So after the CSU clinic we headed over to a ghetto high school near KBF. I wanted to sneak over to KBF so bad! Anyway, all the schools participating in the ''Music in the Parks'' program thing, performed there and went to Disneyland to receive their awards (if they won anything). Saturday we got to go to Disneyland. Although it was crowded, and I was about to die from lack of sleep, it was really fun! My crazy ''roommates'' seemed like they didn’t want anyone to sleep Friday night so 16 hours at Disneyland in one day was really exhausting. But I ended up getting a few great ToT and California Screaming' rides. We also got to go on pretty much all the other rides too. The ride ops were really nice! They let me bring my camera on almost everything! So I ended up with a good Matterhorn POV which I will post somewhere on the forums. I also got Winnie the Pooh ride pictures which turned out a little blurry because I didn’t want to use flash, and I had to turn the ISO speed way up in a moving vehicle. But with all that, the only ride I really wanted to go on that I didn’t get was Thunder Mountain, and Saturday was a great day! Sunday, we got to go to DisneyLand for four hours. I only got two rides; Soarin' and Matterhorn. But after our four hours the band went behind Toon Town to go to a Magic MusicDays workshop. Behind Toon Town was really cool. I got to see what it looks like behind the great theming. It was kind of depressing knowing you are in Disneyland when you are looking at a maintenance yard. I would have great pictures to show all of you, but they wouldn’t allow me to take any pictures back there. The workshop was actually really fun. The guy told us about how they record songs for the Disney movies. We played the songs from a few movies, and the recorded us and put it into the movie clips to show us how it would sound. The guy recording the songs was actually the substitute for Homer Simpson! He did his ''Homer voice'' for us, and it was really cool! I learned a bunch of cool facts about how they record stuff. From walking in the door, the musicians have 15 minutes to record a song they have never seen or heard before. They get paid $600 an hour! So with everything being said, I had a great time with my friends. Oh, and we also won first place, and got a ''superior'' rating! 5/5! Thursday-Drove to our hotel Friday-Clinic, Performance, Medieval Times Saturday-Disneyland!! Sunday-Disneyland, Music Workshop, Go home =( Its Medieval times....more like Scarytimes! Well those are the pictures from the first two days. More coming on the way! Hope you liked it! A Medieval picture. Its Medieval times! The corner of the pyramid. This is a cool picture. See how small it is? PYRAMID!!!!! A stop along the way...TACO BELL!!!! The food at CSU. I wish my school was like this! Here is Zack being weird at a place along the way to Disneyland. Look in the backround you can see the bears head of Grizzly Rapids in the backround at DCA!!
