Norcal783
Hey guys! anyone ever visit these parks? let me know let's talk about it all Six Flags Marine World, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Great America
I_am_Em0_0
out of the 3 I would have to say SCBB is the best. They take better care of there rides and are pretty nice about taking things on rides! PGA is going down hill. They took out the orbit! SFMW is meh
Norcal783
I totally agree, the boardwalk is just plain fun. Spin, spin and the giant dipper. They have the logger's revenge down, they need to replace it with a tidal wave like ride, they definitely have enough space. Pga don't get me started... you know what ruined it for me? when I walked through the line of top gun hearing lame generic music and bad voice actors instead of the soundtrack (little things like that) and SFMW well they have nowhere to build or expand....it's one big crowed island with bad coasters...ehem...Kong. Bush985
Pga don't get me started... you know what ruined it for me? when I walked through the line of top gun hearing lame generic music and bad voice actors instead of the soundtrack (little things like that) What are you talking about? That soundtrack has been there for all 11 years the ride has been open? I think your a little confused. -RD
Norcal783
no way! listen to it carefully...it's so fake. I know you're right there and probably go all the time...but the last time I went I had to plug my ears to avoid listening to the cheap soundtrack, no Kenny Loggins
Bush985
Go all the time. I'm there five days a week, and I gurantee you it's the real thing. Top Gun is one of my ride groupings and I hear the music every morning. and night. It's cool, I respect your opinion. -RD
Norcal783
I mean i love the park, i grew up in it. What do you think about the move? Stealth for water park?
Bush985
If it keeps giving me a paycheck, then I'm happy with it. The park's attendance has only grown since the removal of Stealth, the waterpark addition last year gave PGA one of it's best years in a long time. It sucks we lost four rides in four years, but it's reality. After 30 years rides become hard and expensive to maintain. -RD

Norcal783
I've heard this rumor. Is the foundation for top gun slowly slipping into that nasty lagoon?
I_am_Em0_0
Anyone been to Traintown in sonoma? They have a kiddy coaster and a good landscape
Norcal783
Well I remember something like that in Sonoma, must be the place. What's the ride and landscape like?
I_am_Em0_0
there is this pond/lake thing with like 5 or six frides built around it with a fountain and a really cool train ride. And a claasic arcade!
V2-dude
I've heard this rumor. Is the foundation for top gun slowly slipping into that nasty lagoon? It sinks about an inch each year, whic doesn't sound like much, but it could mean the removal of the ride, or at least the helix. One thing they did wrong was build footers that weren't that deep. This is a no-no for rides above water. Anaconda at PKD has footers 50 feet deep, so its OK, but Top Gun's footers aren't quite deep enough. darklingscribe
Couldn't they just remove the Helix one winter and just put in new footers and then put the helix back up. I know it wouldn't really be cost effective but if PGA removes one of it's biggest star attractions attendance will take a huge dive.
Norcal783
You know everytime i go, the ride looks closer to the water. Freaky! I think my foot grazed the the water last time
Norcal783
You know i think they could do that. Why not fill in that nasty lagoon and give your self another 5 acres of real estate.
V2-dude
Even if they fill the pond with dirt, the ground the footers are in will still be swampy, and it will continue to sink unless they drain the pond or something.
Tmcdllr
They took out the orbit! I haven't been yet this year but, OMG! They took out Orbit? Is this true?
CHROMEDOME
I've heard this rumor. Is the foundation for top gun slowly slipping into that nasty lagoon? OH NO! Top gun is sinking into the 2 foot deep lagoon of death. Please stop.
Sean Menefee
Orbit is done for. The ride is still sitting in its place, but they have boarded up the entrance, and cut out the que. They also turned the former que line into a designated smoking area for the park. Here are a few photos I shot over the weekend as proof. Sean- Orbit hiding from the public.... Smoking Area Anyone?
