Patrick Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 (edited) Yeah, got back on NL and started working on an IRC. Its still a work in progress, but you can see what I have so far. I thought instead of just having a rocket coaster in open space, how about making it a terrain IRC? Oh yeah, heres another gimmick, the drop on the tower is past vertical. Shot of the station and transfer dock. The tower, which is indeed steeper than 90*! Just some shot of terrain work, the coasters nowhere near done/supported. Well, theres the entire layout! Now that I posted this, Im pretty sure I should start working faster to get this thing done. Edited November 11, 2010 by mcjaco
CP_RULES Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 That is REALLY cool. Be sure to post a download when you are done!
Patrick Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Two more shots, showcasing how steep the drop is. You get some crazy air in the back seat. Most of the support work is done (because Im lazy so I only used pre-fabs). There is some more custom support work along the way though that I still need to do. That and adding a crapload of trees. Itll be coming out sometime soon...I hope.
Krazykral10 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 its cool that the drop is steeper than 90 degrees, but something about looks chinsey or fake
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Awsome ride! How did you make a transfer track? I looks like it maybe fake and made out of custom supports, either way, the coaster is really good looking. Dont forget to add a downloan link when your done
Patrick Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 ^ Yeah, originally I was going to go with a 3ds, but I really suck at making them, so I went with custom supportwork. The smallest tube gauge is still bigger than the real track, but I kept it. (It was that or go with I-Beams, ew.) Other changes include me ripping off some tubes on the A-Frames, they looked too dense with all those side support tubes. I dont have any tools on this track, either. The rides getting done, I just have to figure out what I want to do scenery wise, because the ride doesnt really have much of anything right now. I guess Ill be using a lot of trees.
Patrick Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 Okay, so I went with massive trees everywhere, and hopefully it enhances the ride some (it looked lame all barren, as well. Tetra is an Intamin Rocket Coaster at a length of 5,677 feet. It operates 3 trains, and IMO could get a decent capacity. Trains are 5 cars long, and it has 2 inversions, as well as some hills and turns mixed in. Its tophat reaches roughly 275 feet up into the air, with a larger drop then ascent. Okay, enough talking, here it is! #Tetra_Patrick.nltrack Tetra, my latest coaster.
Patrick Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 And not to double post, but I went ahead and made a little video for anyone who doesnt have NL (or just wants a video) of Tetra. It can be found here. http://d.turboupload.com/d/471445/Tetra.WMV.html
fmcnsf Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Wow Patrick, that is an awesome coaster, thanks for the link to download the movie version. Mikey
