UKParkGeek Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I know this is a really naive and probably much posted question but me and a few friends are thinking about flying to Florida for a predominantly theme-park based trip and were wondering whether January is a good time to visit. We are looking to avoid crowds and get cheap hotels and flights, not too bothered about the weather just looking to beat the hurricane season and do it some time early next year. Any advice would be much appreciated.
jarmor Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I think jan would be a great time to visit. But keep in mind, at alot of parks thats the time frame for mantaince and some attractions maybe down but just check w/ the parks prior but that is still a good time! Jarvis "heck, it really isn't an off season in fla!" Morant
ChrisFL Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 January usually has the lowest crowds all year and the weather is usually still nice.
ECZenith Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I agree. The only times I have been to Florida (and I have been at least a dozen times) is during Ocober (for Horror Nights) and January, just because crowds and prices are in my favor. The temperature is comfortable but not hot, I wouldn't plan on hitting any waterparks.
UKParkGeek Posted March 17, 2006 Author Posted March 17, 2006 w00t. All very encouraging cheers guys.
pianojohn Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 As someone who lives and works in Orlando, I would say January, early May, or October. Those are the times when crowds are usually very thin. I know in January many times I walked on pretty much everything at IOA and BGT. However, you can hit some cold weather (50's etc) which may not seem bad to people stuck in the snow. October is great because it is still warm enough to do everything, and the crowds aren't too bad unless you do a Halloween event or hit a park on a holiday weekend. May is also good since it is right after spring break, the kids are still in school, and it is not TOO hot yet. Also, most everything will be running as the parks gear up for the summer season.
