ParkTrips Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Hey guys!! I got working with RCT3 a bit last night and started a new park - it's based on many real life places. The concept is an all-inclusive resort, like ones found in Vegas or Orlando, among other places. The centerpiece, however, is a humungous indoor amusement park. The park manages to fit in three roller coasters (incl. the world's first indoor woodie thanks to Great Coasters, a custom Gerstlaurer spinning coaster) and an Intamin mini-hyper) and more than a dozen other rides (incl. both modern thrills and classic fun machines), all under a 120' roof. It's themed in a wester sort of way, my idea was for it to be based in the Pacific Northwest. I would have liked to add an indoor waterpark to the resort, but I don't have soaked Anywho, here are some pics, enjoy 8) Wee spinny bunny hops! A hyper and a spinner The twisty first drop that comes in at around 110 feet The hyper and the Top Scan
MattJackson Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 That looks really good! How did you get the supports on the Intamin hyper to look so complex?
ParkTrips Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 They are from the Steel Works mod. heh I thought such a small hyper would have drawn more interest, oh well.
Waterpark101 Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 here is a name for your park the great indoors
ScOtT k Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 hmm... I wonder where that's from anyhow, great park. The hyper looks nice, but I want to see more.
coasterdude5 Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Awesome park! I really liked the glass so the first name that came to mind was: Sunlight Park Kinda cheesy but it's a name!
kidcoaster Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 They are from the Steel Works mod. heh I thought such a small hyper would have drawn more interest, oh well. Whats Steel Works mod?
ParkTrips Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 ^ Search. I think it may actually be spelled with an x, but meh, whatever. Anyways here are two videos: First drop/hill series (9" 7MB) Full-length POV (49" 36MB) You get a good peek at the park, so I won't share anything else for now. The video seems to move faster than the actual ride, typical crappy rendering Anyways not bad for a 110' tall, 2300' long hyper. The first half seems like it would have nice ejector air in real life, and the last two bunny hops would definately please the floater fans Thanks for the compliments guys.
coaster_type_of_person Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Yeah, that coaster looks so sweet. The only thing to complain about is the brake run. That goes really slow into it. But I love the lake/pond part of the ride. It reminds me of Expedition GeForce. Yay! Great job.
kidcoaster Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Can someone tell me what Steel Works mod is PLEASE.
smallish Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 ^It's custom scenery for RCT3. Get it here (it will install and then it will be in the game's scenery list) EDIT: Cool video, BTW. The helix right before the station rocks!
ParkTrips Posted March 4, 2006 Author Posted March 4, 2006 Can someone tell me what Steel Works mod is PLEASE. Can someone tell me why people are too damn lazy to query a search PLEASE. Yeah, that coaster looks so sweet. The only thing to complain about is the brake run. That goes really slow into it. Yea, I know. I think it's a bug in the game because the brakes are set at 15 or 18 mph and I know the train isn't going that fast at that point, so why it slows down is beyond me. I only did it to fit 2 trains since I was cramped on space, I don't like it either Thanks for the love guys, I'll grab some more pics later though with it being so small there isn't all that much to show.
coasterdude5 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Awesome coaster! Awesome POV! Awesome park, lol. Still need name suggestions? -Courtyard Park -Great Wall Resort
CP_RULES Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 This park TRUELY is amazing! I really really really like it. As for a name, ummm, howabout.... eh, I got nothing, all I can think of is like paradise style stuff. O well. Good job man, no wait, GREAT JOB MAN!
Chris Benvenuto Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Can someone tell me what Steel Works mod is PLEASE. Look get off yer' *** and search for christ's sake. I laugh at you being so lazy. Oh, and ParkTrips, This looks really good. Keep up the good work, I like what you did with the Mini-Hyper. Can we see some pics of the Indoor woodie? IF you could post them, that'd be great, Thanks.
kidcoaster Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 I did but It came up with stuff I didn't want every time.
CP_RULES Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Well they arent that hard to find. Here are two links to MANY RCT3 scenery packs: http://www.rct2-online.com/80/index.php http://www.rct-theme-world.de/rct3-scenery-new.html I hope your happy now. EDIT: On the first one your going to have to switch the language to English, unless you speak German.
ParkTrips Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Some more pics, mostly of the woodie, and a POV. Enjoy Link to POV
smallish Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Don't use the in-game rocks. Use the awsome ones in the Leftoverz scenery pack.
ParkTrips Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Thanks but I'd like to keep my game as accessible to as many people as possible. the only reason I use the custom supports is because 1. I REALLY can't stand the game's supports and 2. a lot of people seem to have added it to their systems.
coasterdude5 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Thanks but I'd like to keep my game as accessible to as many people as possible. the only reason I use the custom supports is because 1. I REALLY can't stand the game's supports and 2. a lot of people seem to have added it to their systems. THANK-YOU! Someone agrees. But seriously, your park is awesome!
