rollermonkey Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I can't believe how slowly the ToT construction at DLP is going. I just drove down the C2 (Central Circular 2) to the B (Bayshore) earlier today. For the first time, I noticed TDS' ToT from there. (About three miles) It looks like it is as tall as Mount Prometheus! It is definitely quite a bit taller than anything in TDL. I'm just happy to know that I'll finally get to ride any version of ToT in September! (And it wil be the TDS one, so I'll be sure to do a TR on it.)
ECZenith Posted June 15, 2006 Author Posted June 15, 2006 Hey, just pulled this topic out from under 11 pages. Any updates on either tower? I would hope the TDS version will be testing soon. Looking forward to your report rollermonkey, and possiby riding the thing next year!
Nrthwnd Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Here's a BUMP dee Bump! DLP Studios' Tower is looking great here in this pic by Joel, thru wdsfans.com --- but I really like the way a 'Partners' statue already in the Studios should turn into quite the photo op, from what I can see here now. Not exactly a "castle shot," but the new "Castle of The 21st Century," heh heh. It's going to be quite the Photo Op, once everything's in place and the fences come down, hmm?
Nrthwnd Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Bumping, for current interests' sake. Anybody got new pix to share of ToT construction in Paris?
Nrthwnd Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Over at www.dlrpmagic.com there's a new article about the visual 'differences' that are happening between the DCA WDS version of ToT. And near the end of the article, there's wondering on the part of the writer whether the inside of the Paris ToT might be at all different in design and setup? A great shot of the WDS' Tot thanks to photosmagiques.com
ECZenith Posted July 19, 2007 Author Posted July 19, 2007 Lookin' good! Thanks for the update, won't be too too long now until they start testing it.
coasterdude5 Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Yeah, it looks awesome, but it seems like it's taken alot longer to complete, but maybe I'm confusing this with Tokyo's (not that they're similar). Does anyone know when they began construction on the ride?
ECZenith Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 Construction on the Paris ToT started in late October 2005.

And near the end of the article, there's wondering on the part of the writer whether the inside of the Paris ToT might be at all different in design and setup? Yeah, that article reads as though they are grasping at anything to try to set it apart from the DCA version, but in reality, it's a clone. Some minor additional detail on paint here and there IMO isn't any different than one Six Flags park adding a bit more "junk" to the Gotham City theme of one Batman versus the next. I want to tell them "You're getting DCA's version....deal with it!"
