momo1tx Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I noticed on another forum, it would appear that Woodstock Express is leaving Dorney Park. On the Zamperla website, http://www.zamperla.it/ if you go to "buy", and then "used", you can see a coaster listed as "family coaster" with Woodstock Express on the train front for sale.Woodstock Express at Dorney is the only Zamperla named Woodstock Express. Thoughts?
robbalvey Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 ^ But it also says that the coaster for sale is from 2004 and I know Woodstock's Express has been around much longer. Could it just be that they have a family coaster for sale that is NOT the Dorney coaster, but of the same model and that image was the best one they had to show what the coaster looked like? --Robb
CoasterFanatic Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I pretty sure that this is NOT the Dorney coaster. The picture is just there for reference. My guess is that they used it for tradeshows or similar and they are now getting rid of it. Hence the "Sorta Used" description.
YoshiFan Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 The Joker on that page probably is Dorney's unfortunately. I wish they would have moved it somewhere else in the park instead of removing it. Even if it really was Woodstock's Express that was for sale, I don't think it would be a huge loss. The park already has 1 kiddie (Little Laser) and 1 kiddie/family coaster (Dragon) and 3 kiddie/family coasters in a park with only 9 coasters total seems excessive anyway (not that they should remove the ride but it really doesn't seem like they needed it in the first place)
Hercules Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Yeah, this isn't happening. I think it just happens to be the picture of the ride. Woodstock is not going anyway. And yes, that is the Joker from Dorney. Sad because I liked that ride and it had been there since I was little. I thought it was going to Michigan's Adventure, but I guess not. At least they are doing something with it and not just putting it into storage for the next 100 years.

I wish they would have moved it somewhere else in the park instead of removing it. Are you serious? I think it's the worst ride in the park. I'd take the Chance, Weber, Zierer and even A.R.M.'s versions of the Falling Star over Dorney's Joker. I was so disappointed with that ride, it was run like a kiddie ride (but then again, so is their Top Spin).
Red Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 ...it was run like a kiddie ride (but then again, so is their Top Spin). You can thank Cedar Fair's insurance provider for that. The one at GL is only allowed to run in two different modes.

Eh, don't worry, it was taken out for this past season because of the construction of Hydra.
