coasterdude5 Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 (edited) Here's the petition to hopefully save Libertyland. The park has been operating since 1976. I thought of stopping the petition, but after thinking, why not try? It won't hurt so, please sign! Thank you! Direct Link: Here Edited November 5, 2005 by coasterdude5
Scaparri Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 I would love to see this park saved, but who are we petitioning to? A piece of paper with a bunch of names on it doesn't make the money come back. It's a nice idea though. Who knows, maybe somebody will buy the park.
coasterdude5 Posted November 4, 2005 Author Posted November 4, 2005 ^ It's to the Mid South Fairground Re-use Committee. They are the one's who are trying to determine what to do with the park.
robbalvey Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I have to be honest, as much as I would want to see this park saved, I just don't think this is the best way to go about doing it, and it's not something we can support. I may be completely wrong, but these online petitions don't seem to have much credibility, and if anything could just prove to be more destructive than constructive by giving a false sense of hope to people that the petition could actually be of help. Can anyone think of a more proactive way about doing this? --Robb
Mr.Six Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Not to mention, chances are papers are signed and deals are locked. _six

cgodsey Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 (edited) Honestly, I dont think the closing is a bad idea. They were locked into a lease on that property and now someone could come along, buy all of the rides and move them out to the suburbs with no problems now.. Tommy and James, where are you?? I wouldn't be surprised if some investors are waiting in the wings to scoop up the rides and open up a larger park in say, Arlington. Then, they could build that much needed waterpark also! You never know Chris PS: It might help if you didnt have misspelled words in the petition. That would make it look more professional. Edited November 5, 2005 by cgodsey
coasterdude5 Posted November 5, 2005 Author Posted November 5, 2005 ^That's not too bad of an idea! For a second, I didn't realize you were from Memphis. Uhhh... Arlington Texas? Arlington is a great location. Or maybe Collierville.
pgathriller Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I did an online petition for the El Paso Zoo and it worked.
SonOfBeastSucks Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Haha, move it to Indianapolis! We really need a park.
