maliboomer Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I just saw the new ad for WDW, and it is pretty mucked up. It just seems so unusual seeing Walt infront of MKs Castle...because he was dead. Other then that it was fine, and I'm not saying I hate it, just the Walt tie in makes it seem so fake. Maybe they should of digitally made Roy say it, even though no one would know who the hell he was. http://www.mousetimes.com/gallery/albums/movies/wdw_videos/wdw_commercial.wmv
SLUSHIE Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 That commercial pisses me off so much. Disney world has not been around for 50 years, and editing Walt in like that is so stupid.
Real Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 That commercial pisses me off so much. Disney world has not been around for 50 years, and editing Walt in like that is so stupid. Ive been LOL'ing at the whole "50 year celebration" Thing because I bet only 15% of the people watching it know that the celebration is for DL and not WDW. However WDW gets all the attention with the new attractions and pretty much "assumes" DLs age. They make no note to it whatsoever yet in 97 is when they had the 25 year anniversary with the ugliest castle EVER created. Funny how another 25 years slipped by so quickly?

You're right.. that would've made a great DISNEYLAND commercial, but I guess they're keen on celebrating Disneyland's 50th anniversary at every Disney park. Seems a bit weird when you think about it.
Twister II Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Yep, that castle is definitly non-crushable...
Thrasher Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I have to agree with the above. I think its dishonering the memory by doing all this stuff for WDW, when Disneyland is really 50. Havent seen this commercial yet, but Ill probably see it soon.
Sean Menefee Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Haha, you should see all the folks over at MiceChat throwing fits over that commercial. Disney internet fans are boreder line nuts in most cases, but it is kinda fun to check their boards every now and then for entertainment value.
jackskellington101 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 It's an interesting ad, that's for sure. I'm not shocked though. That "To all who come to this happy place, Welcome" segment of the speech has been used in everything they've ever done for the 50th, and it'll only get used more and more often as the celebration promotion goes on. On people not knowing about it being Disneyland's 50th over Disney World's 50th, I don't think so. I think people just think that Disney's been around for 50 years, which is even worse. Or, the worse thing of all for Disney, people just don't care. As for the ad itself, It's very simple and all of that looked like just stock video from before with Kelsey Grammer speaking over it. I hope he didn't fall off his chair while doing the voice over though. Stuart "taking pleasure in other people's pain" Newsom
disneygurlz2s Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I think folks are taking this just a bit tooooo seriously! Shari "If the commercial has a Disney Castle in it, it reduces me to tears and makes me want to call my travel agent, so they are doing their job" Shoufler
socalMAN123 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Wow, that was strange. I mean, Walt on opening day at Disneyland on a regular day at WDW? That just confused me. Brent "Disney, make commercials that actually make sense" Shenton
