DATman Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 (edited) Ok, so i'm doing a project for geography, and I need to know why Tokyo Disneyland is located where it is. In other words, why was it put exactly where it was? Thanks in advance, and my geography class is pointless! EDIT: I changed the point of this thread, so anyone who needs help with a project/Homework can just post here! Edited October 13, 2005 by DATman
Mr.Six Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Ummm..its located in a big city; and Toyko is a major tourist spot. ??? _six
DATman Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 I meant like what influenced Disney to put in in the EXACT spot it is in. For example, that mall is placed by a highway to attract more customers.
SharkTums Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Uses of Geography The subject of geographic study is space; for much of Japan, space is a rare commodity. As early as the 1600s, the people of Tokyo, then Edo, filled in wetlands around the Imperial Palace. Modern Tokyo has attracted a huge population, demanding space; land reclamation has resulted in the filling of 20% of the surface area of Tokyo Bay. Tokyo International Airport, Disneyland, and Yokohama seaport facilities are on reclaimed land. A Landsat Image in National Geographic, October, 2002, shows the incredible extent of this human alteration of natural environment. The impact on the fishing industry is monumental; the impact on humans living there is being discovered daily. DATman Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 Thanks a lot, now I can finish my project for the evil Mrs. Chin! Also, we could change this thread to a Project help thread, for anyone who needs it, if anyone wants me to.
