_koppen Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) So this is probably not that interesting for most people, but getting another Proslide in Sweden is so awesome that I have to share it! So far Skara Sommarland have been the only Proslide park in Sweden, and they are still the only real high quality water park we have in Sweden. Hopefully this is all about to change now! Tosselilla is a really small place down south in Sweden with around 100 000 visitors a year. It's mostly (almost entirely) aimed at the smaller children. This will however be a big quite thrilling addition, which is very needed for the little older kids. Hopefully we can expect more from Proslide in the coming years. This is the old "homemade" mat racer. It was very old and worn down. Even though it's old and not so good it's quite big. But as you can see the safety of the ride was really lacking, which is probably why it's bering replaced. Been following it on their Facebook, and they were really quick with the removal of the old slide. This looks weird! New slides always requires some digging and some pipe-laying. Preparing for the run-out foundation. Time for some pouring! Done! The first parts arrived a few weeks ago from Canada. Nice colors! New foundations were made for the supports. Pump house. Assembling on the way. Looks good! Proslide's engineers have been really clever with this one, as they are re-using the supports from the old slide. Re-using them is a great idea, as it saves more money than you'd think. It's probably one of the reasons Tosselilla can make this investment! It's 18m/59f tall, which makes it one of the tallest mat racers in the world! The last hill is quite tall and steep! It looks totally awesome! Looking good! Never been to Tosselilla, but I will go for sure to try this one out. Can't wait to have this view later in the summer! It's very big and very pretty! So that's it! I will update more as the ride gets finished. Source Edited July 4, 2015 by _koppen
DoinItForTheFame Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I love mat racer slides!! I'm always excited to see a park get one! They are a great attraction for families, as well as thrilling enough for people wanting a more "thrilling" ride. I love the nice pop of air you get on the last hill! Looks like a great addition to the park, and the colors look really good!
StealthFan Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Its a shame they got ride of the home made mat racer it looked like a ton of fun! I love the pink elephant slide the park has, they should never replace that.
_koppen Posted May 6, 2015 Author Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) ^ Although the old slide was fun, it wasn't so funny when you reached the splash pool, and everybody was crashing all over the place (according to my wife) Edited May 8, 2015 by _koppen
Gav Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 OMG it's one of those Mr Bean elephant slides in the last pic!
_koppen Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 OMG it's one of those Mr Bean elephant slides in the last pic! Lol, I forgotten about that scene! I'll suppose you'll have to call this one a super-trunk though
viking86 Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Looks cool! It's always nice to see small parks expanding/improving, and this looks like it should be a great addition. I have never been a big fan of very tall or very fast waterslides, but I love these mat racer slides.
_koppen Posted July 4, 2015 Author Posted July 4, 2015 Had a chance to visit a few days ago and try out Hyper. The ride is a lot taller than it looks on the photos. It's the biggest mat racer I've come across so far, and I've done quite a lot of them now. The airtime is not quite as good on the last hill as the one in Skara but the height and speed more than make up for this. Simply said, it's totally awesome! The park also have a pretty big play structure which is nice. It lacks the interactive features on the decks which is really fun, but for Swedish standards it's very nice. The rest of the water park is pretty outdated, and there is a lack of attractions. They need a big pool who can keep people busy longer, something like a wave pool or a lazy river. Also more interesting slides would be nice. A good first step would be a 4-people slide with some kind of a feature like a Behemoth Bowl or a Tornado Wave, and then more tube slides. They should focus on Family-thrill slides the next years IMO. There is plenty of pools and slides for the little ones, which is the primary target audience, so that's all good. A few new Proslide Kidz slide's would be nice as well, but there's no immediate rush. Here's some photos! Hyper! It's very tall! The weather was awesome! Wheeeeee! I really like how they kept the old supports and was able to save on that! I would also like to see Finland's flag added to the ride. Play structure! It's made by the Indian company Arihant.
