Firechaser
I was wondering would anyone recommend this as a viable road trip option?
coasterdude28
Very doable. My fiend and I did this after graduating high school in 2007. Coming from New Jersey we went Cedar Point>Holiday World>Kentucky Kingdom>Kings Island. There are some long drives in there but it makes for a great trip. glucky11801
I have done this trip before- twice actually. Of course I live on Long Island NY- not sure where you live. I flew to Louisville and rented my car. Drove to Holiday World for Holiwood Nights, and then drove to Cincinatti and a Sunday at King's Island. It is a flat boring drive, lol. Then drove to Sandusky that night at closing, and got some sleep. Did Cedar Point for 2 days. It was a FUN trip. The driving is kind of exhausting, but do-able. We had Fastlane for all 3 days, so no lines!
Geauga Dog
Very easy trip to do. Longest drive will be from Cedar Point to Kings Island, which is about four hours. KK and Holiday World will be at least 2.5 to 3 hours from Kings Island.
Firechaser
^^We live right on the North Carolina, Virginia boarder and it would be a family road trip. When I looked on Google it looked like most of the driving would be getting to Louisville and Going from Cincinnati to Cedar Point. Also in what order would you recommend to do the parks? Midgetman82
I'd assume it should work in the order of Cedar Point, Kings Island, Holiday World, then Kentucky Kingdom or in the reverse direction. I've been to all parks via driving from Louisville at least once, so it's most definitely doable.
Tanks4me05
Assuming you are making a round trip to and from Mount Airy, NC, then I'd probably recommend this: Day 1: Drive to Camden Park in the morning, spend the afternoon at the park as a rest stop, drive to a hotel in Columbus, OH Day 2: Cedar Point Day 3: Kings Island Day 4: Kentucky Kingdom Day 5: Holiday World Day 6: Drive to Beech Bend in the morning, spend a couple hours there as a rest stop, then drive back to Mount Airy. This is if your parents are able to drive that much in that amount of time. Also if you don't want to worry about lines at KI or CP you may want to either get fast lane passes or go a second day to one or both, given how big they are. rcdude
This is definitely a doable trip and would get you to a nice mix of quality parks. Given your starting/ending location I'd probably do something like the following... Day One: Drive to Cedar Point Day Two: Cedar Point Day Three: Cedar Point until about 5 P.M., drive to Cincinnati (about three and a half hours) Day Four: Kings Island Day Five: Drive to Louisville (about two hours), Kentucky Kingdom, drive to Santa Claus (about an hour) Day Six: Holiday World Day Seven: Drive Home Alternatively, you could stay in Louisville and day trip Holiday World from there. If you want more time at Cedar Point, you could potentially visit the day you arrive and/or add a drive day between there and Cincinnati to give you a full second day. You could also swap Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom if it worked out better for driving home and/or reverse this route if it worked out better (avoid the Cedar Fair parks on weekends unless you're purchasing Fast Lane). I305forever
^ I recommend doing what he said and not wasting any money on a motel when you can just stay in Louisville and go to HW for the day.
