hillflyer
I was just going to say we hadn't heard from you in a while and how things where going. Don't give up, if not now, then soon an idea will come to you. I know it's frustrating working with incompatible materials.
Fallen Heretic
There are glues out there which will stick silicone to other stuff. But they are usually a bit pricey and involve multi-part epoxy or pre-treating the surfaces. Â As for the paint, I'm really not sure. I have never tried to paint silicone before. Â But keep the faith. This is like hitting a wall in long distance running. Have a break from it and another idea might hit you later. Thats why its good to have more than one project on the go at a time.

Thats why its good to have more than one project on the go at a time.  I managed to paint the silicone red. But now if I treat the surface it will remove the paint. Its such a shame as the project is close to being completed. I have everything else prepped and ready to be added on. Hopefully an idea will come to me. Until then i'v been making the S&S tower model which has kept me busy. This model will be completed but I just don't know when
CoasterB
I was thinking last night about the track and I came up with another idea. Simular to an idea I had at the beginning with doing the RMC Track Topper design, but this time in a slightly different way. I boiled lollypop sticks and cut them into 2mm strips and laminated them on top of each other. I will then add a thin layer of red styrene on the top and add track ties/braces out of L shaped beams. Heres a couple pictures of me testing that idea out, and also a few pictures of a building i'v been making to add to the themed area. I think il go back over the building and find more details to add. Enjoy. This idea seams to work so I will continue with it. This is the building
G Force
Looks pretty good, glad you were able to come up with a solution to the tracking issue; the buildings are nice too. Although, why is there a Starbucks sign over the bathroom?

Although, why is there a Starbucks sign over the bathroom? Â Â Oh yeah I see what you mean, My intention was to have it as a coffee shop and have a sign to let "people" know there's toilets inside?... hopefully this track solution works, fingers crossed because I have no other ideas left
CoasterB
Hi, it's been a while since I'v posted about my model. I haven't been able to work on it for a while hopefully I will have more time soon but I managed to find a an odd hour here and there and Iv been completely relaying the track by laminating thin strips of wood and then topping the track off with a thin layer of red styrene to create the RMC track topper look. Just a few photos today. I'l have more to show in a few weeks

CoasterB
Just a couple shots from today to show off how the track will look when finnished. I only have the first drop done at the moment. I add strips of L-beans under the the track to create cross ties where there's not supports to add to the style of the track.

shadowspace
The lollipop sticks sticks are a good idea . Remember if u need to bend them ,soak in warm water put on a form , and let them fully dry before taking them off. they will keep shape nicely then glue them together. that's what i used for track . CoasterB
And work is continuing on my project. I finally have the will to complete it . Iv started laying down more wooden lollypop sticks as track, I'v almost completed one side of rail, just have to complete the other side. Iv started to lay down the red track top, I need to change a few of the track tie beams as they don't line up quite correct, like in the overbook. Hopefully it will be finished in the next couple of weeks and I can add the trees and queue line etc The wooden rails are almost complete I'v used pegs to hold the red layer of track in place while the glue dries. So thats one rail of the overbooked curve done. Another shot. Can't wait for it to be finished. A close up

CoasterB
Just a little more progress to show since yesterday. Getting so excited as I see the track form in front of me. I realise bits are not perfect but it's been so difficult and a challenge, I'm happy to leave some of the imperfections as undoing them will just cause more work.
