djboss302
Hello fellow TPR Members. Today I visited a rather run down water park in Rockford, IL, known as Magic Waters (in case you didn't read the title of thread) The park is kinda small, but there's still enough to do to keep you occupied for a day. I only have one ride I wanna do a review for so let's get to that. Splash Blaster: 4.5/5. An old Water coaster, thing still packs a punch. It's pretty short, but don't let that fool you. This thing is packed with airtime and definitely a must ride. Now for some pretty pictures! (Just kidding. I took them with my phone ) I think we're here. Yep, we're definitely here. Unless this one of dreams which include Proslide stuff. Behold, for you have seen the entrance. Random mushroom thingy which is the first thing you see when you enter. I think I see some purty slides...oh and yeah an eatery themed to coconuts. Only $7 eh? Still a ripoff. Random mix mash up of water slides! For Rockfordians, this is probably an icon to them. Oh and dont forget that amazing water coaster right there. Some more water coaster goodness. Ooooo pretty Proslide complex. OMG pretty colors! Unfortunately the bright orange slide was closed. Dang... Another pic of the Rockford icon. The wave pool was also closed since they were fixing all the layers or somethimg I dunno. Here's that Double Dare Drop, new in 2012. These slides literally took my breath away. Like seriously I couldn't even breathe! Here's the lazy river and the water play structure. Sorry water play structure nerds I didnt take any more pictires of it :/ Mandatory splash pad thingy. Mandatory fake palm tress, and....... MORE MANDATORY FAKE PALM TREES!!!!! Lockers. Woo hoo. Lift hill porn. Double dropiness. And, I close with this. Thanks for reading. Hope you liked it! Edited June 21, 2014 by djboss302
WFChris
That double down on the water coaster looks really cool!
LiMiT
I remember this place! I rode Splash Blaster when it first opened. I was like 5 at the time. It is a bit more run-down than I remember, but I really liked the place back then.

Since Magic Waters is owned by the local park district, you would have to expect the place to be a bit run down. And even though there is a huge amount of expansion room behind the park (sorry I didn't take any photos), I doubt it would ever be used.
GoBears
I've been going here ever since I was 1 years old except the last 3 years. It's about 15 minutes from my house if I hop on I-90 and take it down to the State St. exit or down to Harrison by Cherryvale Mall. I used to love this place as a kid but eventually the park district had very little money to spend on surrounding Rockford parks and Magic Waters so it became somewhat run down. Splash Blaster is one of the most challenging water slides I've ever been on and it's really the only reason I would ever bother to go back. That double down first drop sends your butt way off the raft. It's just always so crowded on summer days since it's a small park and there's nothing to do here in Rockford except Magic Waters and 2 nearby movie theaters. Overall, there's some decent water slides including a great water coaster and perhaps one of the best water buckets of all time. You have to hold onto your swimsuits when the bucket tips because I've seen my fair share of bikini tops snapping and swim trunks falling down from it. It's quite amusing if you stand back and watch. Not sure if they've changed it since the last time I've went though. I've witnessed two different cases of kids needing medical attention after the bucket smacked them down to the ground. Rollercoaster Rider
I went there in 2006 and had an OK time, Not in my Top 10 waterparks but still charming. Better then most community pool centers.
