Guest Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Hey Ted, I am not sure if my diva possee can make the 10 o'clock deadline, seeing as we are hitting PFN the night before, and will take us about 4 hours to hit Knoebel's. If we can't meet up with you for breakfast, I am sure to see you sometime during the day at PPP. Katie, who hopes her ghetto cell phone will work in Central PA.
CoasterFanatic Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 ^ Would be super cool if you could make it, but I do understand the haul from Kennywood to Knoebels (I will be making a very similar journey). If we can't meet for breakfast, be sure to hunt me down sometime during the day. I usually spend about 75% of my time on the flyers. Note: Cell phones don't work for S**T at Knoebels.
Guest Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Are you hitting PFN the night before? Apparently a ton of enthusiasts (and I don't mean that literally) will be there. If you are PM me and I can give you my cell number and we can all hang out. At least I know my phone will work at KW! Katie, who can't wait for PFN, PPP, and Lakemont.
CoasterFanatic Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 Sorry no PFN for me. I will most likely be attending that on Oct. 21st. I have to get to PPP early so I can set up my tent. I know .... crazy!
Token Yankee Guy Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I should be able to make it. I just gotta call my manager tomorrow at work and see if he gave me the days off for columbus day weekend since I got the 10th and 11th off. Yay, I get to drive..over 500 miles just to get down to PA in two days. Note: Cell phones don't work for S**T at Knoebels. I was able to get a few bars out of my phone, which is apart of the Cingular network. Also, if I do get down to PA, is anyone interested in hitting up SFGAdv the following day?
CoasterFanatic Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 ^ I will go ahead and add you to the list. I will be nice to finally meet. Let me know if you can't make it.
robbalvey Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Anyone who wears a TPR shirt to PPP gets a special edition, gold plated pocket fluff!!! --Robb "I wanna see some PPP pics with people wearing TPR shirts!" Alvey
Meteornotes Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I have no idea if we're going or not at this point, but I do know there is no way we're going to be there at 10! We probably won't leave our house until 10! Anyway, if we go, I'll wear my TPR shirt, just to annoy RRC trolls... Dave "asshat enthusiasses are one of the reasons I might skip the event" Thomas
Token Yankee Guy Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 ^ I've never been to Knoebels during PPP, so this will be a new experience for me.
DerekRx Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I'll be at Knoebels, I doubt I'm gonna do the PPP wristband deal though. If I get there early enough, I'll do breakfast, but are you certain they actually do breakfast still that time of year? In the past I remember the international foodcourt being closed for PPP I think. If I'm not there, I'm sure I'll see you throughout the day, Ted. Dave, you gotta go, strength in numbers against the enthusiasses!
CoasterFanatic Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 I checked with Knoebels and the International Food Court will open at 8am that morning. It probably has more to do with the Covered Bridge Festival than PPP. It would be great to see you there Derek. If not, I am sure that I will catch up with you during the day.
Guest Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 I checked with my divas...and we may be able to make the breakfast. It all depends on when we get our butt's out of bed the next morning, that is IF we sleep! LOL. I will let you know hopefully soon. Katie
Token Yankee Guy Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 It looks like i might not make it right at 10am. We're leaving Bangor, Maine on Friday, then if we get in too late, I gotta wait till early Saturday morning to make it down to Knoebels. When we get closer to the date Ted, we should exchange cell numbers so I can call you so we can meet at a location in the park.
CoasterFanatic Posted September 28, 2005 Author Posted September 28, 2005 No problem. I will probably message it to anyone who displays interest in attending.
QuakerOaties Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I may be at Knoebels that day but not at 10am since I'll be at a concert the night before. Mark "Not sure whether or not its worth driving 3 hours to wait in long lines" Luskus
CoasterFanatic Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 PPP does get crowded but the only rides that typically display long lines are the Flyers, Gasoline Alley, and Phoenix. Even with the long line on Phoenix, the wait is rarely longer than 15 minutes.
Token Yankee Guy Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Good news, I got the days off from work. So that means it is official that I will be down for PPP\
mdosh Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Counrt me in. Mark Oship (mdosh) I may have three friends with me. They will be: Dave Peek Gloria Jane Not sure of the ladies last names. Gloria is Dave's fiancee and jane is her best friend. MARK
mdosh Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Anyone staying in Bloomsburg for PPP? That's where my friend Dave and I usually stay. This year we're going to stay Friday and Saturday night (we usually drive to the hotel on Saturday) Anyway, there's this redneck trail-park type bar on the outskirts of Bloomsburg called Rick's Rusty Rudder. We'll probably be there Friday night, and maybe Saturday night around midnight or so, after a short stay at the bonfire. If anyone would like to join us at bar either Friday or Saturday, the more the merrier. Just ask anyone at your hotel where Rick's Rusty Rudder is and they all seem to know the place. Or just post your interest here and I'll give you directions to the bar. MARK
mdosh Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 A follow-up on my last post. Rick's Rusty Rudder is at 23 Perry St. in Bloomsburg From the I-80 exit at Columbia Mall Blvd take Route 42 South about 2 miles. Not far before it intersect with Route 11 is Perry St. You can't miss Rick's Rusty Rudder. Hope to see some of you there. They have a pool table, an area with some tables, and sometimes they have live entertainment. MARK
CoasterFanatic Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 Anyone staying in Bloomsburg for PPP? That's where my friend Dave and I usually stay. This year we're going to stay Friday and Saturday night (we usually drive to the hotel on Saturday) I will be staying at lovely Camp RRC in a spiffy 8'x8' tent. Depending on how I feel at the end of the day, I may be up for a drink or two at this bar you speak of.
Token Yankee Guy Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 My plans are now a 100% confirmed that I'll be going down. Now all I gotta do is call my grandparents to let them know I'll be staying a few days with them. Also it looks like I will drive the entire 500+/- miles down to PA from Bangor so I don't have to worry about leaving early on Saturday from CT.
Guest Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Ted, I don't think we are gonna make breakfast, getting up at 6am is just unreasonable in my book! LOL. I will find you sometime during the day at Knoebel's. You guys doing the GCII tour as well? Katie, who knows you will kick my ass if you knew I forgot that you like beer as much as Wally!
CoasterFanatic Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 Just wanted to throw out a reminder to everyone who is planning on attending. Also, if you haven't responded, still feel free to drop in and say hi. Saturday Oct 8th @ 10am International Food Court (Next to the Log Flume) See you there!
