boardwalkbullet91507 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 (edited) Before I begin, this is NOT A RECREATION. This is my first time posting in this forum (I think) so take that with a grain of salt, but I wanted to show off my latest project. It's a park loosely inspired by Gröna Lund. I've been kinda in this phase of making parks loosely based off others just to kind of give me a bit of inspiration, so here is my latest. It's a custom scenario and my first to mess around with the landscape a little bit, so there is some land level variation. This isn't a timeline park. It's just a go along as I wish park. Hope you like it and feel free to drop a few suggestions if you please. EDIT 11/2/13- Images have been updated to actual in-game screenshots. GL1-1.BMP This is sort of the overview. I have three main 'hubs' done. I usually do this when I have ideaS for a certain section of the park and then I just connect them when I am done. So eventually, they will all be connected. This is a WIP. GL1-2.BMP Here is the front gate area. Nothing much else to be said other than I got my acceptance letter to HBU on Monday GL1-3.BMP This is the front area, and up top is a sneak peak of the first themed section the 'renaissance festival'. GL1-4.BMP First coaster in the park called the Big Dipper. It's an out and back woodie. The station and coaster used to be all white but I renovated it to look like this to match the area more. GL1-5.BMP Here is the layout minus the turnaround. It's similar to Judge Roy Scream at SFOT if your familiar with SFOT. The only difference is that I substituted one of the hills before the turnaround and elongated the first hill to include two camel backs (a valley in between) and then a larger camelback after. And Ironically, today is hump day! GL1-6.BMP This is Timber Run. Not much of a good name but the coaster is better than the name apparently. (If you have a name suggestion for this ride please do suggest it). The coaster is 10 years old and from day one has had the entire queue line full. If you look between the two buildings you can see where I extended the queue line to accommodate more guests. It was originally shrubbery. Underneath the coaster is renaissance maze. This is the second maze to be there; the first was far too confusing and only had one possible solution, so the same 16 people would be in there for 5 minutes at a time. It was horrible. I demolished it and replaced it with this smaller one so I could include a larger and nicer queue. It now has multiple solutions for the guests little pea brains to handle. I guess my AP brain was too much for them. That being said, it works far better now and there is a constant flow of guests moving in and out. GL1-7.BMP This is the rest of the renaissance festival. This section had its ups and downs. Guests were getting lost or stuck out the wazoo so I had to construct a single width path that goes straight to the park entrance. That solved SO MANY problems and I haven't had any since. The building at the top is a theatre and inside is a circus. The spire in the lower center no longer exists. GL1-8.BMP Hub #2- Just a coaster called 'Insane' and an Intamin gyro-drop made to look similar to a Mundial Windseeker. Rather than a Zac-Spin, this Insane is a Premier launched coaster. GL1-9.BMP Close up at the coaster. GL1-10.BMP Hub #3 is two coasters; Jetline (Schwarzkopf) and Twister (GG Woodie). The stalls at the bottom are temporary. They will be moved eventually. GL1-11.BMP Can't go wrong with a Schwarzy, huh? This Jetline has three inversions with a top speed of 56mph. I also have two more layouts avaliable; one is all within the 'boxed area' and the other is extended like this one but hugs the ground more. GL1-12.BMP Twister interacts with Jetline here. It's cool when the trains pass each other like so. It only happens once in a blue moon though. GL1-13.BMP Twister looks awesome from this angle. This also shows the empty space next to it. I plan to add a river rapids ride here that interacts with Twister’s turn around but right now I'm still 36k In debt and don't want to make any more executive decisions until that is all paid off and I start making some money. GL1-14.BMP And for fun, this is what I crammed inside of the theatre. I estimated the length of the queue wrong, but hey, you never know when business will boom and you'll need that extra queue space. Edited November 3, 2013 by boardwalkbullet91507
boardwalkbullet91507 Posted November 11, 2013 Author Posted November 11, 2013 This is just as good as heaven! Thank you, Thank you! So like a custom grönalund I could say... I guess so, yeah! Well, I was able to pay the debt off enough to begin construction on the river rapids ride; It's not my best work, so perhaps a remodel will come in the future? Don't even ask what I named it; I already forgot. It's been a while. Either the next update or one soon after will feature the largest addition In the parks history, and *hint *hint, it will be a *Lite that shines brighter than any other! GL2-1.BMP Construction work has begun underneath Twister's turnaround. GL2-2.BMP The ride will take up all of the vacant space adjacent to Twister. GL2-3.BMP Excavation is complete; you can see how large the ride layout will be. GL2-4.BMP Beginning track placement with water that magically seems to not flow out of the ends. GL2-5.BMP Track is in place on the far end of Twister. GL2-6.BMP Beginning path and scenery placement before any testing begins. GL2-7.BMP Scenery is in place and station building is complete! GL2-8.BMP Another angle; I sense the need for more shrubbery! GL2-9.BMP The back end of the ride; seems a tad bland; again, a re-theming is possible in the future. GL2-10.BMP Last but not least, an overview; the back of the park has definitely gotten larger.
historyfreak92 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Twister, & the River Rapids are now my Favorite part of this Park!
yay101 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I actually like the New Insane!! Great job with the park! I'd like to see what you could do with Kvasten...
boardwalkbullet91507 Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 Twister, & the River Rapids are now my Favorite part of this Park! Awesome! Thank You! I actually like the New Insane!! Great job with the park! I'd like to see what you could do with Kvasten... I have a few ideas; Kvasten may be another squeeze-in ride. Alright, on to the next update. This may be it for a while; I have a bunch of December 1st deadlines that I need to tend to. I get automatic acceptance to any public university in Texas, so really all I have to do is submit the application, but it is still a handful to do. I recently got my acceptance to Baylor University, so that has been the highlight of my week. Anyways, yes, very busy at the moment so it could be a while unless I find some time to squeeze in an update. I've had this update ready to post for a while, but again, busy, so I am just now posting it. The park is really starting to take shape so now comes deciding which rides to not include in the park and which ones that make the cut. This update is TWO rides, a coaster and a flat. Again, this is loosely based off of Grona Lund so some rides aren't at the real park, like this one . . . Might go through again and do a re-theme; maybe not. I know an update far into the future will probably be a 'park beautification' update with before and after screenshots of sections of the park. Anyways, onto the update . . . GL3-1.BMP The temporary paths have been moved over to make room for the new coaster; it is a big project. Remember, these paths are here to connect finished sections of the park. GL3-2.BMP I also moved the temporary food stall over to make room. BTW, if you aver see any stand-alone stalls in my park EVER, they are either temporary or will be housed soon. I find the majority of the stalls to small and unrealistic and cartoony, so they are all housed at one point or another. GL3-3.BMP And God said, "let there be mega-lite. And mega-lite rose from the ground. And God saw that it was good." GL3-4.BMP Most of the temporary paths have been removed and replaced with permanent ones! Woohoo! GL3-5.BMP Perimeter fencing is up . . . GL3-6.BMP Work on the queue line and entrance is now in progress . . . GL3-7.BMP Station and ride scenery are complete! The ride is named 'speed'. Very unoriginal, if you have a name, please suggest it. GL3-8.BMP Testing has begun. What is with that empty space back there? Hmmmmmmmm.... GL3-9.BMP Close of the main arena. All scenery in place and last minute testing . . . GL3-10.BMP The second ride for the update is a top spin that occupies that blank space. Didn't go all out on this one; it's pretty basic.
historyfreak92 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Wow! The Intamin Mega Lite is just like the Sun! Ahhhhhh! Sunny!
Greatdrift Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I really like the Mega-Lite color scheme. The Schwarzkopf color scheme also looks amazing!
boardwalkbullet91507 Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Wow! The Intamin Mega Lite is just like the Sun! Ahhhhhh! Sunny! Thanks! I tried my hardest to make the layout as good as possible! I really like the Mega-Lite color scheme. The Schwarzkopf color scheme also looks amazing! Thank you! The Mega-Lite is actually one of my favorites; it really stands out against everything else. Alright guys, another update! This update focuses on the back of the park. I'm hoping to start there and move my way up. But first, a NEW section! Rather a renovation, we are going to extend upon the existing Roto-drop and turn it into a boardwalk themed area. The boardwalk will extend from the Roto-Drop to the entrance of the river rapids ride. GL4-1.BMP Here is the area we are working with. The temporary Fried Chicken stall will have to make an unprecedented third move. Or fourth. Lost count. GL4-2.BMP Decking has begun on the backside of the Roto-drop. So far so good. GL4-3.BMP Alright, this section is now complete, path accessories are now in place. Now onto the expansion . . . GL4-4.BMP The boardwalk was carried down the 'coast' and two new rides were added! Wave Swinger and Swirl are the new attractions for this update. But . . . they look awfully familiar. Like I've seen them before. GL4-5.BMP Whoa, they are actually Pirata and Merry-Men-Go-Round from the Renaissance Festival. The area they were in has now been fenced off. What is happening to the Renaissance festival? *Hint *Hint I'll just be THANKful for all the rides they will be GIVING in their new location. Also fun fact, Timber Run is 17 years old and still has a full queue (Not pictured). GL4-6.BMP Here is the finished boardwalk area! GL4-7.BMP Now if I can draw your attention to this area of the park, this is where I would like to focus on ne- WAIT WHAT IS THAT? GL4-8.BMP Kvasten is Coming.
historyfreak92 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Ohhh! I think Kvasten is an Vekoma Suspended!
boardwalkbullet91507 Posted November 28, 2013 Author Posted November 28, 2013 Ohhh! I think Kvasten is an Vekoma Suspended! . . . as close as I could get to it in the game, yes! How about a Thanksgiving mini-update? Today, work has begun on transforming the Renaissance Festival into Oktoberfest! Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! GL5-1.BMP The signs to the area have already been changed. GL5-2.BMP New landscaping has been added in and Timber Run is now Oktoberfest Express! It received a much needed paint job and stands out more! GL5-3.BMP Another angle; the area where Merry-Men-Go-Round and Pirata is still fenced off and untouched. GL5-4.BMP Now let's take a look at the progress on Kvasten. Coming along nice!
historyfreak92 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Kvasten is just lookin' good! (Hey Good Lookin" by Hank Williams!) and Timber Run is like something to do in a day! Well, Happy Thanksgiving!
rolercstrluvr Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Wow, this park is looking better and better with every update. Will you be putting this park on the exchange when it's finished?
Jon Sabo Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Nice looking park. Keep up the good work! I like the colors on Insane.
boardwalkbullet91507 Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Kvasten is just lookin' good! (Hey Good Lookin" by Hank Williams!) and Timber Run is like something to do in a day! Well, Happy Thanksgiving! Haha! Thanks historyfreak! Wow, this park is looking better and better with every update. Will you be putting this park on the exchange when it's finished? Thank you so much! Yes, I plan on putting the finished park up on the exchange when it is all finished for others to play around with! Nice looking park. Keep up the good work!I like the colors on Insane. Thank you! I tried to keep them as close to the actual Insane as possible. Well, college applications are DONE! That means, more time for Grona Land! Problem is, I still have scholarships to apply for here and there as well, but for sure expect more in my updates. Next one will probably be this weekend. In this update: Kvasten is completed and OPEN and construction begins on the log flume! Plus, two more attractions announced! Let's jump right in: GL6-1.BMP The area where Pirata and Merry-Men-Go-Round once stood has been converted into space for vendors to sell beer (not really) in true Oktoberfest fashion! Seriously, if RCT had a beer stall that would go a long ways, but just imagine. I know some stalls look a little oriental but I had to do with what I had. I considered tents but the height clearance above the stalls just made it look weird so I did something I NEVER do and left the stalls open. (Other than here, again, if you see open stalls anywhere else in the park, they are temporary, and if you pay close attention to the updates, they move around all the time when they are in the way.) GL6-2.BMP The area has really grown with the park guests; many more people than when the area was the renaissance festival. GL6-3.BMP Kvasten is OPEN! Some minor tweaking on the track has been done but it is now finished! GL6-4.BMP Kvasten translated to English is broom according to google, but we are going to pretend it has something to do with pirates because I have a hard time naming a coaster 'broom'. GL6-5.BMP I designed the first drop to go though Big Dippers turnaround. GL6-6.BMP The grand finale is a swing over the water. GL6-7.BMP Not long after opening, the area of land next to it was fenced off with some ground work being done. What could this possibly be? Hmmmmmmmmmm GL6-8.BMP The area of land parallel to Speed was also fenced off. TWO new projects! Wonder what they will be . . . GL6-9.BMP Construction has began on the parks new log flume! (Name not yet chosen). Excavation has begun underneath Speed! GL6-10.BMP Then BAM log flume. Nice for families! GL6-11.BMP I went ahead and finished the far end under speed. Should call for some interesting encounters if the timing is right. The exit path was also built, it will merge with Speeds. GL6-12.BMP And last but not least an overview of this particular area of the park. Speed and the Log Flume look so awesome next to each other! Should look nice when it's done!
rolercstrluvr Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Simple log flume is simple but effective, I like it. I don't know what to think what the next projects are, maybe a corkscrew coaster? That's all I can really think of, but keep the updates coming.
historyfreak92 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Or some Garden Scenery will look good too it!
