Jackie Chan to open theme park in China

Action superstar Jackie Chan is planning to build a theme park in China.

 

Chan is working on the project, which is set to be located in Beijing's Yizhuang district, with a local partner. The star has not confirmed the number of attractions planned for the park, which will be called JC World, but he aims to exhibit items such as furniture and four antique Chinese wooden buildings that he has collected over his career.

 

Chan tells the Malaysia Times, "I want to exhibit all my stuff. They may not all be worth a lot of money, but they may have a story behind them ... I was very poor when I was a child, so when I had money later on, I bought all sorts of things and went around the world collecting them."

 

The park, which is set to feature five sections, each with a different cultural theme, will have no entrance fee although some attractions will be ticketed. Chan adds, "Sixty per ent of the park will be free, 40 percent will be ticketed, with the money used to maintain the antique buildings ... I am not short on money." No opening date has yet been confirmed

Oh please! Beijing? Seriously? That city just simply not a place for human to live! Come to Guangzhou! And we need more cultural things and more giant coasters. But it doesn't seems possible because Jackie Chan might focus on the cultural things more. When will Six Flags and Cedar Fair step into China? I mean mainland.

I had read about this earlier and got the impression that this may be more of a real park? He's building some sort of Jackie Chan museum in Shanghai and a park in Beijing. I'm picturing JackieChanWood, like Dollywood!

Jackie Chan opened some cafés all around the world… He is too old for action movies now. I imagine it would be an indoor park that most of the park would be museums, 3D/4D movies kind of things and a few flat rides plus a Vekoma kiddie coaster themed to Kung Fu...

Based on how often Jackie Chan has hurt himself doing outrageous stunts, maybe a lack of rides isn't such a bad thing.
