Jew
This doesn't even seem like one of the major fairs, and yet it blows all the fairs in the U.S. out of the water.

simon8899
Had a wonderful day at the Bremen Freimarkt. With tons of rides one of the best german carnivals in germany if you ask me. Visited on a warm but slightly overcast day - but as it's forecasted to be one of the last warm days this year and with a major league soccer game next door the carnival was packed with poeple. For the first time at Freimarkt were the Schwarzkopf/Gerstlauer Absoluter "Parkour" and the HUSS Mega-Dance/FlicFlac "Devil Rock". First a stroll over classic Freimarkt at the city center. Classic Ferris Wheel and Carousel On to the Bürgerweide you see the 3 biggest poertable rides of the world: Olympia Looping, log-flume "Wildwasser 3" and 65 meter ferris wheel "Steiger Riesenrad" Welcome to the best! If Anton smiles from up above seeing his rides still pleasing the crowds? Standard Break-Dancer with unique theming Love rider impressions... Frisbee (left), Airwolf (center) and Happy Sailor (right) Huge portable log-flume made by MACK "Wildwasser" is "WildWater" in english Lots and lots of water - and even cleaner than in chinese parks... Offering two turntables with a backwards drop A small darkride section is also on the log-flume Towring at 30 meters - ride finsishing with two 15 meter drops Parkour was first built by Wieland Schwarzkopf and later on refurbished by Gerstlauer The ride is far more intense and erratic than a ride on a sitdown Schwarzkopf Monster Never too old to hang upside down high in the air... Classic MACK musicexpress always a crowd pleaser. Far more to come...

simon8899
More pictures from the Freimarkt! View over the carnival from the ferris wheel Yes, it's a big Dancer No.2 I spot a Flic-Flac Actual marriage on the ferris wheel! Always the busiest ride at all german carnivals Taking a break on the steps while waiting for your ride Bumper-Cars! If the Waveswinger is not high enough for you a StarFlyer is also here New bouncy ride Here you can win flowers! Now it will get wild... The ride cycle is more intense and longer than on the Dragen at Tivoli Gardens Maurer-Söhne spinner. Nighttime pictures coming soon!
Jew
Great photos as always. I know I say this every time you post a TR, but it is always true: I really wish U.S. fairs could all go to the independent model that Europe has.
A.J.
Great photos as always. I know I say this every time you post a TR, but it is always true: I really wish U.S. fairs could all go to the independent model that Europe has. I totally agree (on both counts), it would be so cool to have at least one fair in the United States that basically goes to all the show companies and says, "bring in some of your best attractions to show off". Fun fact for those who don't know - while the Suspended Polyp "Parkour" flat was a conversion of the original Schwarzkopf Absoluter "Sound Factory", Gerstlauer actually advertises new Suspended Polyps on their website. simon8899
^Gerstlauer also builds classic sitdown Polyps based on the Schwarzkopf design - I've ridden their brandnew "Jukebox" at Liseberg this year and ride is amazing and ultra-smooth. They now feature individual hydraulic lapbars - on one hand you can't "work" the ride by moving from side to side to spin it up, on the other hand it's more save for riders with different sizes as with one lapbar for all can get dangerous if voluminous grandfather and grandchild ride and the latter is not really protected. They also still have the Schwarzkopf Walzerfahrt - Tilt-A-Whirl - in their catalog.
simon8899
It can always get better by getting dark as night falls over the carnival and all lights come up. Time for the last spin on Olympia Looping for this year See you coming spring! Dancing in the dark... One of the most beautiful rides Wildwasser has more lights than a local sports field SWIRL!!! Flash going over ones heads plus note the nice LED package on the ferris wheel And now it gets crowded At this time of day the turnaround time is about 30 seconds Operator booming over the sound system: "All cars taken. Clear the platform. Clear the platform. We start now. All hands behind the red line!" And off one goes... Wild mouse is blue at night Flic-Flac also colorful at night Finishing off a great day with a ride on Airwolf
Jew
The flic-flac looks like a fun flat---too bad HUSS doesn't make them anymore.
