MrsPhishy
Hey Karen, thanks for the kind of words. I have an ENT doctor for this problem, since 1998. The sketch is not very exactly. I made it by myself. Maybe it is even more worse. Everyday they inject me Buflomedil 50mg/5ml in 250ml NaCl 0,9%. Do you know that medicine? My doctor knows, that those come in liquid and pill forms. The pills called “Trental”, but it works not as good as the liquid medicine, for me! I can use Trental at the evening, before going to my doctor, when I have a problem. --Sören Wow, you made that sketch yourself?? It looks just like a real audiogram, I thought you must have scanned it. I actually don't know too much about Buflomedil, I don't think it's available in the US. It's usually used to improve blood flow, so your doctor probably thinks you have reduced blood flow to the inner ear. So it's more likely a sensorineural loss, not conductive as I had assumed. And yes, it should be injected, unfortunately. I hate needles too, daily injections would be my worst nightmare. I'd be interested to see if it works for you. Sudden sensorineural hearing loss is tricky to diagnose and treat, most people never really find out what's causing it definitively. It sounds like you have a good ENT doctor though, so I'm sure you're in good hands. Hearing loss is no fun, I think many people underestimate how much hearing loss and tinnitus can affect someone. I really hope it gets better!!
Coasters 4 ever
Needles don't really bother me. I had to get allergy shots for 3 years. Also, when the allergist had to test what shots I needed, I got 7 shots in one arm one day, 10 for two days, and 11 on the last day.
moinab
^Allergy shots and testing are subcutaneous and intradermal - just a quick jab. IV injections, which have to puncture a vein (and not blow it out), are quite a bit more difficult and painful.
BiCoastal Kid
Here is a picture of the medicine: NaCl... isn't that table salt???
Hattuchili
^No, that isn´t table salt. I think it is called "saline solution" in english. --Sören
BiCoastal Kid
^Ah, but it does have salt in it. Saline = slat/salty. You're pretty much getting pumped full of seasoning.

I really hope it gets better!! The last times it really woorks good. I hope it will work this time, too. My ENT doctor is really good, he helped me the last times so much! Yeah, hearing loss is no fun. Every time I woke up and hear nothing I was really shocked. It is the worst thing ever, to wake up and hear nothing. The tinnitus is a bad thing, too. I hear the tinnitus 24h - 7 days a week, but it is still okay for me. :? --Sören
Sir Clinksalot
I hate needles too. I pass out every time anyone goes near me with a needle. Five years ago I found out that I would have to inject myself four times a day every day with insulin. It's bizarre but I can inject myself without feeling faint, but even now if anyone tries to take blood I have to be laid flat else I will end up on the floor. I dunno I guess I'm just weird. If the above doesn't make much sense it's because I've been on the Worthington tonight in the pub. Followed by chips, egg fried rice and crispy pork curry. Mmmmmmm beer and chinese. The "pork" was probably dog but who cares? As long as it isn't my dog I really don't care!

BiCoastal Kid
^No, not exactly table salt... but they are derived from the same basic combinaion of elements. Either way, I'm sure it'll do it's job. I wonder what content NaCl it is. Hmmmm.
Hattuchili
I still have some problems with my internet access. The phone company will take a look at the problem, tomorrow. I hope so. Now I am at grandmothers computer to post a few things. When everything is okay again, then I will post a few pictures from visiting the doctor! --Sören "hate the phone company" Schomburg

Kroger8
MMM Soren's hand injection, gah that picture makes me nervous, too bad they don't give you the nitrous oxide for those! It sure made my IV alot better, and to think you have those every day! Im sorry again Soren, that looks awful.
Hattuchili
Yeah, I have internet access, again. That is the first piece of good news and second I feel a little bit better! I will post a few pictures, later! --Sören
Shockwave
Hope you're feeling better soon Soeren. I remember having my hand stabbed a few times when my appendix was removed on Christmas Eve last year and they gave me a drip to stop getting dehydrated. But it was worth it for all the morphine injections after the operation!
