So most of you know I was in Oakland for a few days. It was for work and let me tell you, boy did I work! We left Saturday out of Burbank on Southwest and it was empty so we all had our own row. We arrived in Oakland and got our luggage. We were getting a rental car and we were told that we were getting a minivan or suv. Well, when we got to the rental car place they had a midsize car for us. Not happening. There were 5 of us and luggage and laptops and crap. The rude customer service people at AVIS would not give us a bigger car. We called our boss and she yelled at them and cancelled our reservation and told us to go to a different rental car place. So we did. We got a white minivan which was really nice.

We were staying at the Hilton Oakland Airport. From looking at it on the outside I was scared! It looked kinda yucky, but I was relieved when we got to our rooms and they were quite nice.

Saturday night for dinner was our only time we were able to leave the hotel. We decided to go to Jack London Square and have dinner. We were going to go to San Francisco, but we had to be back by 8 to set stuff up for the next day. We ate at SFO Bar and Grill. It was really good.

While sitting there, all my coworkers were looking behind me and I turn around and who is there but our own Justin!! OMG! It was such a shock that we ran into each other. Out of all the resturaunts it just seems funny that we ran into each other.

Sunday morning started at 9am. What were doing was checking in nurses who were going to be working. It was a lot of work. We were there until 1:30 in the morning. Monday was the same way. We got there at 8:30 and were done at 1am and then had to meet to leave for the airport at 7:15.

The flight home was bad. It was bumpy and the landing was horrible. I was thankful to be landed safely.

My total hours for the past week and this week are 96 regular hours. 27 overtime and 9 double time. I can't wait for this check and it is perfect timing with our East Coast trip!

It was an interesting trip, but I enjoyed it. I am completely tired and can barely keep my eyes open, but I would do it again if the nurses decided to strike!

I didn't take many pictures as I was working, but enjoy what I have!!

Melissa and Michelle, my traveling and working buddies. The guys didn't want their picture taken.

See the cot? Yeah, thought we were going to have to share with nurses!

ROFLMFAO!

Great TR. And I'm not weird, I'm goofy. There's a difference.

It was weird running into there of all places. Thanks for emailing and letting me know you were coming, by the way. Oh yeah, REAL NICE.

I still have Gregg's birthday present too. Someday I'll actually have it when I see either of you to hand it over. Or maybe I just put a friggin stamp on the thing and mail it down! Yeah, there's a novel idea.

Well, Oakland is not exactly a place where you say "wow, there is so much stuff i want to take pictures of here!". It's an OK place, but you need to go across the bay for quality entertainment. Jack London Square has some good food places, though.

Sounds like you were busy. Hope you get some rest!

^It was so funny. The first night we were there we asked the hotel manager what was around there to do or where we could go to eat. She was like, "your best bet would be to go to SF. If you stay around here, don't go out at night and don't walk the streets" My fellow coworkers and I all laughed and she was like, "no, I am serious!" So we stayed off the streets.

Uh yeah Justin and thanks for calling me Monday I said I was sorry like 50 times!!! It was good to see you! BTW, how was the movie?

Kristi "so tired probably can't sleep tonight!" C.

How did you get so close to the plane? Was that taken in Burbank? That's the only airport I can think of in California where you still walk out to the Tarmac and up the stairs to board your plane.

Nice report. My wife doesn't travel much anymore, but I heard some rather interesting tales from those trips.

Yes it was Burbank Eric. I have not had to board a plane like that and it was freaking me out. I hate flying and the guys we were flying with were not being real nice to us girls who were all terrified.

I don't normally travel, but this was a request from the "higher ups" to have me go and now they want me every time!

Yeah, Oakland is a place that you probably don't walk around at night in. Whenever people are hanging out around me, remind me to tell the story about the first time I visited Oakland. I have to act out parts of it, which is why I'm not typing it up now...

Wow what a completely odd and random experience! Imagine that! Out of all those restaurants!

I guess it's not as weird as us running into Reed and Stacy for the first time at the Indian place on I-drive!

^ Yeah, it was kind of funny.

I get this call, from Kristi's cell-phone and it's this deep voice saying "Hi Honey". I couldn't tell who it was at first.

I finally asked who it was and low and behold ... Justin.

It was kind of freaky at first.
