RCBoilermaker14 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) This is my current amusement park. It`s main attractions is American Thunder,Bobcat, and L&P Mine Train. Please leave suggestions as far roller coasters and the overall park.Savanna Lake Amusment Park is currently owned by two former employees of GCI and B&M who broke off in late 2005,they are brothers named Samuel and David Hamlition. American Thunder POV:Orginal coaster that started it all in 2008,built by Hamiltion Coasters(Formerly Roadside Coasters Inc.) with help from GCI,this crazy coaster was built as looping coaster. Kid America POV:New with the rest of Smalltown USA in 2011,a kid`s area themed around the West,a junior coaster built by Hamlition Coasters. Bobcat POV:A oringinal wood coaster opened in 1971 at Chester Park across town, closed in 2005,moved to SLAP from 2009 to 2011,and opened in 2012.This coaster was designed by the park owner and was built by Philadelphia Tobbgan Co,it took 3 years to get approval to build it.Part of a section of the park dedicated to classic rides. L&P Mine Train POV:New for 2013 this mine train built by Hamilition Coasters, flys over the L&P River. Note:You can now use Hamiliton Coasters in your parks, they mostly build Wood and Mine train coasters, and occasionaly junior coasters. RIP:Super Slide(2011)-70 ft. Mat Slide that was part of the Classic rides sections of the park, and was removed to make room for L&P Mine Train. Edited March 19, 2012 by RCBoilermaker14
QueerRudie Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Welcome to the Games Forum: As this is your first thread, a few things you should know- 1.) Use the youtube function for your videos. AJ has written a great tutorial about it HERE! 2.) You need to fill your thread in with more content than four videos: Add some pics- tell us about your park, and give us some details. A lot of people would appreciate that. R.D. Games Forum Management Team
simaticable Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Just a bit of constructive criticism: If you are going for realism for your park, those coasters aren't even close to it. American Thunder: Three issues: Banking, chain lifts and loops. Banking is almost nonexistent and no wooden coasters have one loop let alone five (I am well aware of Son of Beast, but that loop was removed). One lift hill should be enough for a coaster. Kid America: More nonexistent banking. PLEASE fix that. Bobcat: Banking is your best friend in these games. Also, don't put lift hills on every hill. L&P Mine Train: Kinda short for an Arrow. If you want to see how a real mine train operates, look at POV's of mine train rides from around the world. There needs to be some banking as well. Foliage: Try to put trees around the coasters. It doesn't kill to put lakes in there as well. Remember: Banking brings down intensity, so peeps will ride your rides. NO loops on wooden coasters. NO unnecessary lift hills. If it requires more than one lift, change it so it won't. Mine trains should be the only one that should have multiple lifts. Also, like RD said, put pictures up. We would like to give you constructive criticism on any other creations you may have.

This is my first real amusement park on RCT3,since I only got it for Christmas, but I don`t know how to get pictures on RCT3.I should have a park video up,and a full story up here pretty soon.
RCBoilermaker14 Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Also just a few things,Bobcat now has foliage around it,and that whole area is dedicated to classic rides.
RCBoilermaker14 Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Guess what?I just spent a hour working on the story and guess what when I tried to post,I was logged out,and when I logged back in everything was gone.
-Edge of Beast- Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 That is literally impossible unless you forgot to save the game. By the way, all you have to do to take screenshots is press "f10" or "f11" on your keyboard. I don't understand how you knew how to record but not to take a picture...

netdvn Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 - American Thunder - too many loops. One or two would be nice as a prototype, but 4 or 5 is a bit excessive for a wood coaster. Work on banking the turns and don't abuse the lift hills. You don't need those on every hill. - Kid America - a bit short, make it a bit longer and bank those turns. - Bobcat - bank those turns and get rid of the excessive lift hills. - Mine Train - I really like this layout. Some of the turns need banking, but it's perfectly fine. Like RD said, you should add pictures. I really wanna see the rest of your park.

RCBoilermaker14 Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 (edited) Savanna Lake Amusement Park Part #2 :In this part I show you the rest of Midway, and the main entrance.Rides include Battleship,Disk of the American Road,MoonShooter, and the Roadside Carosel. All of the Midway rides have been with the park since 2008 except Battleship, which replaced Super Slide recently. Also all the rides have a Roadside/America theme, and are Red,white, and blue with the exception of the train on MoonShooter. --------------------------------- The location of Savanna Lake Amusement Park is the imaginary town of Chester,Ohio which is southeast Columbus,Ohio. It has housed two amusment parks in its history,Chester Park from 1950-2005(Bobcat was built there.) and Savanna Lake Amusment Park which opened in 2008, and is owned by David Hamiltion and Sam Tobble. Note :I've been taking suggestions on how to change my coasters, and I've done it.Bobcat has unecessary chain lift and put some banking in.Banking on Kid America is gone.American Thunder got three of its loops taken out due to rising operating cost, and put banking & a whole new layout where they were.L&P Mine Train got some banking, and got unnecessary banking taken out.-David Hamiltion,Park Owner and RCBoilermaker14 Shot0005_A.bmp The bottom of Battleship,a 210 ft Roto Drop Tower Shot0006_A.bmp Top of Battleship, and some views of American Thunder Shot0007_A.bmp Info desks. molemaster43 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Okay. It isn't bad. Just needs some fixing up. Buildings would help make it look much nicer than having individual stalls, unless they really fit in. I like the rest of the park overall, just some minor things here and there. Also, put a bit more variation into your scenery.
SoCalCoasters Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 You need to take your time between updates as the quality could be much much higher than it currently is.
RCBoilermaker14 Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 Actually I'm doing updates of the current park as it is,so people can tell me how to improve. The rest of the park is better themed and has more varied scenery. Also I will upload the redone coasters POV's tonight on my Youtube account.

simaticable Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Multiple things are holding me back with this park: 1) BANKING! Banking, please it's not a hard concept. Your guests' necks will break like toothpicks going through those unbanked turns. 2) LOOPS! Loops don't belong on wooden coasters...EVER! They are painful, they are intense, and they will kill your guests if that design was built in the real world! 3) Lift hills Lift hills are to be used ONCE! I told you this already: NO unnecessary lift hills. If it requires more than one lift, change it so it won't. Mine trains should be the only one that should have multiple lifts. If you are not going for realism, please tell us. I'm just being picky since when I build a coaster, I imagine myself on said coaster going through each twist and turn thinking about what a rider would feel. I don't want the rider to feel what I wouldn't want to feel. I feel as though you have a lot of potential, but I feel as though you spend five minutes going through the park then uploading an update. Spend plenty of time on your park. I spend one to two weeks in order to get my park together for an update. Listen to constructive criticism. It won't kill you. Look at other parks and rides to gain inspiration on what to build. It will help you in the long run.
MayTheGForceBeWithYou Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 I have to go with everything said above. Very few non-mine train coasters have more than one lift, the lats are going to be killer from the lack of banking, and there's a reason there's no looping woodies anymore. In response to an older update, here's a road/parking lot tutorial from one of the best NCSO players on the web:

The Beast at Kings Island and Iron Dragon at Cedar Point.
I305KD Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 ^ I think he means non-terrain coasters. Like El Toro.

molemaster43 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Much better job than before on American Thunder. It improved drastically. Now, in America, every single ride doesn't have to have the word "American" in it, but if you like it that way, you can leave it.
