haydawg149 Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 okay, im just telling you what i think of the park, get overyourself, not everything you do is going to be perfect
coasterfreak101 Posted September 17, 2005 Author Posted September 17, 2005 You know what, I try to come close, but I know that noone is gona be perfect! This is my first attempt at scenery and all, my point is that you've posted on my thread 5 times I believe and not once can you give me SOMETHING positive that I've done. DUH! I'm not perfect, and don't tell me to get over myself! Just go do something else besides criticize kennywood!007's and my parks! We want to know what's wrong, but we'd also like to know what we've done right! So I put out thanks to Soren and Eric and Zack for at least saying some nice things! That's why I continue to build- because SOME people like my stuff! So either say SOMETHING positive, not always negative, or just don't come. As a last resort I WILL go to the admins to help me! Hopefully they WILL support me! Â Anyway, for you GOOD people out there, The Journey is completed, along with scenery and theming! All I need is screenies and it'll be up within a few hours!!!
coasterfreak101 Posted September 17, 2005 Author Posted September 17, 2005 Sorry again for the double-post, but I wanted a post full of The Journey! A coaster based off of The Voyage, coming to Holiday World in 2006, The Journey will take you on a high speed excavation through the jungle, reaching speeds over 60mph! Get ready to come out of your seat with more than 18 seconds of airtime as you speed underground 9 times! Enjoy your ride on The Journey! DISPATCH! Â P.S.- If you haven't seen it yet, Superman has been re-themed to Batman, the pic are on page 3. ENJOY! Â P.S.S.- This is my first shot at trees and all, so I hope I did good! Here's the overview with no scenery! Now you can see the full craziness of The Journey! ....only to shoot up into the Home-Stretch! This is the long outward part, followed by an above-ground/below-ground turnaround.... The first drop into a tunnel shots back out into another hill that'll turn and take you into the woods! The fun beginning- inspired by The Raven!
kennywood!007 Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Journey is deffinately the best! Haydawg dont think you can critisize this one buddy. Great job Tyler!
coasterfreak101 Posted September 17, 2005 Author Posted September 17, 2005 Thanks Zack, I really put a couple hours into this one! I'm glad you like it and I hope Haydawg doesn't Rain On My Parade!
Stitch Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Nice work on The Journey Tyler, I can tell you took some time to make this one. It looks like it is loosely based on The Voyage
zburns999 Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Wow. That the wooden coaster is great. I'm not sure about the 90 degree drop on Nitrous, but hey, that's just my opinion. Overall, I think it looks pretty nice so far.
coasterfreak101 Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 Thanks for the kind waords Eric and ZBurns!!! And by the way, I also LOVE Storm Runner, so you're not alone zburns! Next up: Racers! But you'll never guess what happend when 360* and Psychlone Verse!!!!!
coasterfreak101 Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 What happens when a steelie and a woodie mix? REVOLVER VS. PSYCHLONE happens! So, here's some freakin awsome twisting reacers, each with 2 loops! ENJOY!!! SIX FLAGS ULTIMATO!!!!!!!!!! The 2nd part after the above MCBR. These loops make you hang, while the others give great G's! The 1st part with the literally BACK-to-BACK loops! LOL:) The funky ending, I give you this first to build suspense!
kennywood!007 Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Odd but yet AWSOME! Never seen thid before but you pulled it off. Nice work.
Stitch Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 I like making odd dueling coasters too, I especially like the invert with the sit down. Do you have one name for it and two track names (IE Gwazi, Lion and Tiger)?
coasterfreak101 Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 I don't have a combined name, but you could call them SFMMrox: Revolution vs. Psychlone! This is because of what I've been doing with my names:  Nitro = Nitrous B:TR = B: The Coaster The Voyage = The Journey Revolution = Revolver Psyclone = Psychlone  I'm trying to stay with names in the SF chain, but The Voyage and Big Thunder Mountain (OOPS: did I spill the beans!?!) aren't in the chain but I'm making redo's of them!  --Tyler
Joe Cool Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Hey just started looking at this thread and I must say i'm liking what im seeing. Keep up the good work.
coasterfreak101 Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 Well, here is the final coaster installment for the weekend! I'll show some flats later though! There probably won't be one till Wednesday, so continue to look through this thread 100 times and maybe it'll magically update! (That's "How To Keep An Idiot Busy" by Tyler H.) Here is a kiddie coaster (which is sadly one of the most popular rides in the park because it has great stats! There's also a shuttle! YAY, a coaster that goes backwards!!!!! A new overviw, the next update will be some rides, this area won't be clear for long! Can you guess what's in the building? A DUUURRRR!!!!! Montezooma Jr. is fun for all ages!
Stitch Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 I like Montezuma Jr. and Montezuma's Attack reminds me of a coaster I made in Rct1, I called it Power Drill . I will make sure to check back around Wednesday for your next update. Keep up the good work - Eric
kennywood!007 Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Love it Love it Love it! Keep it up! Cant wait for your next project!!!
coasterfreak101 Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 Thank you everyone! First off, I'd like to apologize for yesterday's hissy fit against HayDawg. I just was getting tired of negative comments, they can be a real put-down. But on a higher note: for the 1st time, I have decided to give you SFU peeps a VIP tour through the planning of my next coaster! Â Thge next coaster will feature a large manmade mountain! It'll probably be the toughest coaster I've ever done, and it'll be my first crack at terrain. What'll it be called? Big Lightning Mountain!!! It'll be just like the real thing, helices, tunnels, and a winding trip around the mountain! I also plan to mak a small lake/pong behind the mountain (out of sight) that the coaster will pluinge over! Once my park expands to this lake, I'll build up walls aroung it, because it's a secret!!! I can't wait to get started, and I can't wait to post it this Thursday or so!!! It should take a while, so that's why I'm pushing back the deadline! Also coming with BLM will be sopme flats and possibly a rapids ride! You'll have to wait till Thursday to find that out! Cya! Â --Tyler
DATman Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Your park looks good! The only problem i have is the endings on a lot of your rides seem weak. Its prolly just me tho. Other than that, good job!
coasterfreak101 Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 Big Lightning Mountain is done!!! There's noone on it because it just opened! There's still some trees and artificial tunnels I want to make, but here's what you've been waiting for!! I hope you like it! Pull down your restraint bar, sit back, and enjoy your ride! OVERVIEW!!! Look at this and see if you can follow this! It's impossible! ...and this one, like 4-5 times! The ride jumps between this lake...
kennywood!007 Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I like everything but that orange water....sorry Tyler! But its still a good mine train coaster!
Costakid Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I'm going to preface my preface here, so here goes. I usually don't browse any forum regarding RCT2 or 3 only because I'm tempted to tell someone how to fix their park, or what is wrong with it. This is because I'm anal retentive, and a perfectionist, and when ever I get anything decent RCT wise, I find a flaw with it and re-do it. Â So, don't take what I have to say to be anything mean, nor am I trying to tell you how make you park. That being said, I have some suggestions that, IMO, will only help your park: Â 1. First off, the orange water looks pretty bad. 2. Try to keep your stations lifted off the ground, or if you can't change it being at ground level, lower the ground beneath it and build a floor. 3. Your buildings are too blocky. Try to set different layers and out shootings. Spice it up a bit. Try balconies, towers, curves, angles, ect. Try stuff and see what works. The more you tinker with it, the better you will get. Look at real-life parks or buildings for inspiration. 4. Color choices. You don't have to pick colors that necisarilly go together, but you have to make them work. One example that pops out in my mind is the Nitrous station. The colors are all over the place. Coordinate, pick a few colors (with stations, I like to stick to 3) and stay with them. Paths associated with the buildings should also be coordinated with the buildings. 5. Coaster layouts. I don't realy like straying too far beyond the "realistic" realm, so I only build realistic layouts for my rides. Most of your rides aren't too bad layout wise, but some need some help. With Nitrous, I find the vertical drop perfectly acceptable, but the vertical climb after it is not. With such a long train, and with the limits of RCT, the real G-Forces while cresting that vertical hill would be too high to pass saftey regulations. The G-Force readouts on RCT don't realy do this justice because of the limitations. I like the wooden coaster layout. Simple out n' back. It may be a bit long, but when has that been a bad thing? 6. This is just a personal preferance, but I like to build my park starting from the entrance, and moving outward. Also, I build one area at a time, say building Gotham City first, complete with buildings and flat rides, then advance to my next section. This is my personal preferance, but I suggest giving it a try and seeing if you like it better. 7. Shops/Stalls: Putting shops and stalls by themselves out in the open isn't very realisitc. A few here and there are found in themeparks, with the occational food stand, but for the most part, I would put them in a restuarant or somthing of the sort. 8. Trees: Around the station of "The Journey" you have a lot of trees. Now this isn't bad, but they are all bunched together too tight. Just spread them out randomly throughout the area you want them in. As well, the trees you use together should be similar. Palm trees and oak trees don't grow in the same area. Finaly, don't make blocks of one type of tree; Mix them all together randomly, with random spaces where there are no trees. Â Remeber, these are all just suggestions. Feel free to use or not use any of them. The best advice I can give is just to keep working at it. Practice makes perfect. Â I left this for last, as it doesn't apply to this park. I STRONGLY suggest having a master plan before building a new park. At least have a basic idea of themed areas, what will be in those areas, ect. Â Once again, just constructive critisism, so take it with a grain of salt.
Stitch Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I like Big Lightning Mountain but I feel like it is missing a mountain , perhaps you could raise more land instead of water - Eric
coasterfreak101 Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 Ok, thanks for all of the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, costakid, I'll definately take up some of your advice! Here's what I'm thinking as I read: Â 1) When I made the huge scenario like 3 months ago I had no intention of showing it to the public! But is there a way I can switch out water colors? 2) When I picked the scenery to be in the scenario, I chose alot! But it only gavve me like 7 of the 12 or somethin that I picked 3) I'm gonna go to RCTmart and get some custom scenery, but how do I switch scenery in and out of my current park? 4) Is there a way to transfer my current park to a new scenario or something? Because I'd love to start over, but I don't wanna lose my work! 5) I guess I'll have to look at AllisonY2K's Building Forum to try and get better at building buildings! 6) Some of the stuff, like the themed areas and masterplan are different for me. Themed areas I could do next time, but I really like to build as I go! Â But anyway, thanks for the input, I'll update tomorrow with some flats and other rides!!!
DATman Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Very Cool, and i like how you are doing what you can to make your park rule even more!
