CoasterCreator9 Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 (edited) Hey everyone! Finally decided to get back into parkmaking. Some of you may remember Baylands Park. (If you don't: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=56438) I abandoned this park over a year ago, and I revisited it today, deciding to fix up problem areas and continue the park. HOPEFULLY I can get somewhere with this one. (Park fun fact: The dueling LIM Coaster 'Dreadnaught' is the display image for the LIM Coaster article on the RCTwiki, I didn't even know it was there. ) Okay, so this update won't show anything new, because there isn't anything. However, if anyone wants, I can post some pictures of the park's current status. What this update will show is the main areas I plan on tackling first. I'll display a few options with each "issue", and you all can help with the decisions. Problem #1: Firebomb -I love this little coaster. However, it's positioning and abundance of supports make for a bit of an eyesore. Option #1: Bulldoze the coaster and replace it. Option #2: Expand the coaster, rework the hideous support structure. Problem #2: The Ice Rink -Another thing in this park that I love, the building is very nice, but the position is terrible. Option #1: Boom. Option #2: Bulldoze the railroad (which might be the best option in the long run) and reorganize the area. Problem #3: Random Flat Ride Area -Yeah.. I don't know, this seems more like a filler the more I look at it. Option #1: Renovate Option #2: Destroy Frustration #1: Timberliner - The park's massive wood coaster - is too intense for most guests and doesn't keep consistant speed. I would prefer to keep this ride in the park, and I could really use some ideas on how to retrack the coaster while still maintaining the intimidating presence. Other Planned Improvements: #1: Mainstreet Makeover (Really needs it.) #2: Drop Tower Repaint #3: Hotel Edited December 27, 2011 by mcjaco
sfgamguy Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 This is kind of off topic but where could I download the Roll-O-Plane? Looks like a nice park and I'm sure you'll make it better, I would just bulldoze the dive machine though.
QueerRudie Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Calling in the bulldozers for Timberliner, and recommends you call the fine folks at GCI for some help
CoasterCreator9 Posted December 26, 2011 Author Posted December 26, 2011 Thanks for the replies guys! Alright, current situation at Baylands: A majority of the park will be closed for renovation, the only rides remaining open will be in the front half of the park, Facility 9, Chimera, Dreadnought, Tsunami, Thunder Falls, Vertical Limit, etc. The rest of the park is now officially closed, massive path redesign, layout changes, main street upgrade, the whole nine yards. As you can tell... Work is cut out for me, much of the park is filled with horrible paths like these.
-Edge of Beast- Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 It looks interesting so far! I like your layouts, they're very imaginative and creative. Can't wait to see more!
RCTrioFan Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 That is great CC9, good to see your back! I think you should scrap that woodie and make an intamin.
molemaster43 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Nice job! Cannot wait for the next update.
