Do you let it go? Do you talk to them? Do you flip 'em the bird?

With me, it really honestly depends...First off, it really depends on the size of the group, capacity of the ride, type of group (whether if it's a bunch of juveniles, 'gangsta's', average adults who should know better, or just little kids without their parents), wait time, and distance to the station.

In a worst case scenario, I will indirectly voice my opinion about line jumpers, perhaps an attendant standing by might hear and contact the attendants at the station. I had this happen with a group of 4 girls exiting the log ride and hopping the adjacent entry queue railing right in front of me...After the 3rd person, I vocalized that the entrance was 'back there.' The photo booth was right next to the area they hopped and had someone working it at the time. To my surprise when we got up to the station, the attendant at the top of the stairs leading to the turntable told them that if they wish to ride, they will have to get back in line. However they held the line for a good minute arguing and crying why they should be able to ride. I stood there silent, with that smirk on my face. We passed them, did our ride (and about 4 other logs behind me also cycled. When I got back into the station, they were still standing there with the attendant...finally, they got to ride. For the time they wasted arguing, they could have saved the headache and stress by simply getting back in line, would have been the same wait time.

About little kids getting in line, 'catching up with their parents,' I've had an instance where I just said "Line Jumpers!" to my cousin when the kid says "I'm trying to get to my parents." Seeing his age, I mentioned that he should have already been with his parents, not wandering around by themselves. When I was a kid, we got in line as a group, not us running off away from the parents.

Otherwise, if it's a short line nearby the station, typically from my experience, the cutters usually go off to another row (typically the row that has a line while my cousin and I take the back row (which has no wait). In the end, we get on our ride before the cutters.

Other things I've done (without success unfortunately) is what I call Operation: Wide Load...basically if you have someone else with you, or a group of 3 or more, your group can suddenly block the queue from people coming behind you. Most of the time, the 'group meeter uppers' just push their way through like they're breaking the offensive line to sack the quarterback.

Basically it depends. If its some punk teenagers wearing fitted hats backwards trying to skip the Behemoth line by "going to the vending machines in the middle of the line and pretending to have enough money to buy something when really they don't" than I do not do anything. Quite frankly if I did things would get ugly. If it is some kid that is hopping through all of the switchbacks than I will defiantly say something to the kid. If he doesn't listen I tell a ride op and the problem is solved.

I just wanted to share a story about this kid who line jumped me on Drop Tower at CW a few weeks ago when this 9 year old kid or so says "excuse me my friend is up ahed may I please pass" I said sorry but there is no line jumping. He left the queue than his parents came back in line with him and gave me a "talk". They were extremely rude and started swearing at me and asked why I wouldn't let his son pass me in line. I explained the no line jumping rule and they just said "screw this kid just go ahed". Man I was angry. Of course the ride op did absolutely nothing.

^That does remind me of back in 2007 at CGA, when CarnEvil was up for preview that year. The Haunt opened around 3:30 or so. My brother and I made way over there and got ourselves in line about 15 minutes early, nobody in line. As soon as we got up to where they had the trash can planted to block the queue, I hear this voice from across the midway:

"You guys know I'm in line!" *Looks over to where voice came from. Sure enough, some blob-like substance sitting on a neighboring bench was telling us that 'she was in line. Of course, we argued since how were we supposed to know she was in line. So it was whatever then...to my surprise, people walking by came up in my brother and my defense, telling her that she should have been in line. In the end, it got ugly, I got a nearby vendor to call up security as the line filled up...so much for our early start and in the end, she got her way and was the first one to squeeze her blobby mass through the corridors of CarnEvil.

Why I post this? Because I see this story as a reverse, the lady posing us as line jumpers when we honestly did not know she was waiting in line on a bench...only to be a real b***h about things even after we were done interacting with her. This story however is probably better suited for the GP thread.

I let it go for 2 reasons. First I usually go to parks alone so if it's a group cutting, I don't want to take any chances after seeing past altercations with others. Secondly, even if I did report it, nothing will happen when I go to Great Adventure which is probably around half my park trips. Twice I have been in line for Superman and have been cut, others near me in line reported it and both times the cutters didn't get in trouble at all and the first time, the group was threatened by the cutters after the guards left. Even at Dorney where I also go to a lot, they usually get away with it. Only once did I see someone removed from the line. It bothers me when people cut in line but I just deal with it.

This is a terrible thread and a really pointless poll. I do not approve of a post suggesting that you ever "flip someone the bird" at a park. If someone cuts the line, and it offends you enough that you feel you need to do something about it, you contact an employee of the park.

That is the ONLY option. Anything else is just inappropriate...like this thread.
