Hilltopper39 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I have a quick question about Wet N WIld water parks that someone may know the answer to (didn't want to clog the main forum for what is probably a one post response). Are the Wet N Wild water parks in Orlando, FL and Greensboro, NC affiliated in any way (other than the same name) with the Wet n Wild parks in Phoenix, Hawaii and Australia? There are two different websites for the two different sets of parks and they appear to be under different ownership and management but strangely enough share the exact same park name and a a very similar park logo. Anyone know what the deal is or the history of the ownership of these parks? When Wet N Wild was still in Vegas was it affiliated with either of the 2 sets?
SharkTums Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I'm pretty sure a lot of them used to all be owned by the same company. I want to say Orlando, Vegas, Dallas and NC were at least on the same website at some point in the 90's. Whatever that parent company was had issues and they started selling them off to the point now that I don't think any are still affiliated with each other.
Jew Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Orlando=owned by Universal North Carolina=owned by Palace Entertainment Hawaii, Phoenix, Australia=owned by Village Roadshow The company was originally founded by the same guy who founded Sea World, and I believe Elissa is correct in saying that Orlando, NC, Dallas, and Vegas were at one time all under the same ownership of that company. I'm assuming that this original company (which no longer owns any water parks and is probably just a holding company for any remaining assets) just licenses the name out to whomever wants it.
1pizza14 Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 There is also a Wet N Wild in Cancun mexico.. I believe its owned by palace resorts.
