Patty Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Hey All, I Am in the U.S at the moment visitin my Dad and we went to Hersey Park this past Saturday. It was a good day out but way to crowded! The first ride we went on was 'The Great Bear' and we waited about an hour for that! The second ride we decided to go on was the storm runner and we waited an hour and 20 minutes for it but in the end it was worth it! By this time it was around 4:30 pm so we decided to get something to drink and something to eat...Bad idea, everything is really expensive so the next time i will remember to bring our own food and go eat it out in the parking lot like the majority of the people there! well after we ate etc...we went on the sidewinder, it was ok but nothing thrilling but the line was not to bad...about 20 minutes in the end! We decided to leave after we got off because the lines were just to long and we didnt have enough coaster time before we had to get on the road back to maryland! Well anyways ill speak to y'all later! Who knows i might even come on the Europe Trip cause i live near some of those themeparks! Talk to you later Pat (aka Swanny)
robbalvey Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 ^ How can ANYTHING in America be expensive when it's pretty much half price to someone who comes over from the UK??? As of today's exchance rate quoted on www.xe.com: 100.00 GBP United Kingdom Pounds = 180.609 USD United States Dollars 1 GBP = 1.80609 USD 1 USD = 0.553684 GBP That sucks that Storm Runner's line was 90 minutes...that REALLY sucks! Oh, well.... --Robb
dubaidave Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Hey Patty Great TR. I was born in Knaresborough.!! How is the town?
Real Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Yea the conversion rate is incredible. Its why most all UK people Ive spoken too at parks and on planes say they love coming over here because its dirt cheap.
Patty Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 (edited) I do have to agree with you that the exchange rate is good over here but some of the stuff at the park was a bit pricey. Yes i do agree that the wait for Storm Runner did suck but hey at least we could look at some girls to past the time! Shame we didnt have any ERT while we were there but oh well! Since i live in england...would it be possible to tell me how many people have put a deposit down already for the UK trip in 2006...that would be helpful. -Pat- The Great Bear Storm Runner A Nice Shot Of Great Bear Me In Front Of Great Bear (Good Pic Of It Running Behind Me) Edited September 23, 2005 by Patty
Patty Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 Hey dubaidave When was the last time you were in knaresborough?? The town is ok even though ive only lived there for 9 years because i was born in washington d.c but i moved to the U.K when i was young. Justin Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 I went on a Thursday in June and only had to wait 15 minutes all day for StormRunner, and that was the front! Then after 3 it was all walk on. Glad to hear you had a fun time!
dubaidave Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Hi Pat I wa born there in 73 and left in 86 so dont remember it too well. I can remember it could be quite rough back then. we used to live next to the viaduct.
