thrillrider Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 EOC had some really good pizza. I will miss the peanutbutter and jelly pizza.
RoCo Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 First, thanks so much for the cornucopia of BTS shots. It's embarrassing how hard I geeked out over the trains in the Breakers lot. Second: what ON EARTH are peanut butter and jelly pizzas!!??!?!??! I'm caught between "disgusted" and "intrigued..."
thrillrider Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 Imagine heaven on earth. It was like a regular pizza, minus cheese, pizza sauce, and typical pizza toppings. It was just the pizza dough, and peanut butter and jelly. There is a place out by me that still has it. Anybody ever heard of a pizza joint called "american pie"?
Invertalon Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I never get why people are turned off by Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza... It is the same as the sandwhich, except for bread you have pizza crust. All else is the same. No pizza sauce, cheese, anything. The pizza part makes it incredible! They usually melt the PB and pour it over the crust and place the jelly on top then throw it in the oven. Perfection!
thrillrider Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 I think people "think" it has pizza sauce and other toppings, along with peanut butter and jelly.
Philrad71 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 ^ Kinda like people thinking that peanut butter chicken wings are just wings coated in peanut butter when it is actually Chinese peanut sauce in melted butter (they're good tho!). I had never visited EoC, but every time we went by, it was either closed or did not look very busy. Guess it was simply a fluke on our part. If we were looking for a place to eat outside of CP, we usually ended up at the Thirsty Pony down at the corner. The hotel sucks, but the restaurant is decent and they have good beer on draft! Anywho...great report! Really cool seeing CP in the offseason and you definitely got some great shots. I notice some things are covered in plastic wrap, but most of the coaster trains are not. I assume they will wrap those before they get too much exposure to the harsh winter elements?
99er Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 They wont be wrapped. It wont be much longer before they are brought inside to be taken apart.
thrillrider Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 The will be refurbed in the next few months.
RoCo Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Thanks to all for the PB&J pizza insights... There's got to be a place in SoCal that offers something like it. Will have to hunt this down.
thrillrider Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 With all the weird food offerings in California, there has to be a place that has it.
thrillrider Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 It was really cool to have a link for this TR in the Theme park review magazine. Thank you Rob
thrillrider Posted January 20, 2011 Author Posted January 20, 2011 A few cool pictures of gemini in the snow.
HappyEisentrout Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I love the sight of coasters in the snow, so peaceful.
Sidra Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Amazing pictures... *sigh* I miss you corkscrew... you still look awesome. I know the ride itself pales to most rides we have now but just look at that corkscrew... its gorgeous...
MavMillMag Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Oh how I love Gemini. It's like the middle child of Cedar Point: easily overlooked. Personally it's one of my favorites at the Point. Or anywhere actually.
DBJ Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Wow! Great shots. Those look like works of fine art. Thanks for posting.
Generic Name Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I really love these images. The ones from inside the park make it look like one that has closed down permanently. It's eerie in a way. Thank you very much.
thrillrider Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 Going on another off season tour of cedarpoint this weekend. Anything in paticular someone wants me to take pictures of?
