Corkscrewy Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Yeah I've been debating on whether i like the 'vines' like that or not. I'll take another picture and see if that helps.
Mastersax68 Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I think the bushes could be toned down a bit also. I would vary the type of bush, too. Mega-Lite's are always good news, though. Any relation at all to the movie? Just curious.
Corkscrewy Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Never saw the movie. Just liked the name. haha
Mastersax68 Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I know how it is. Still looking forward to it, though.
imawesome1124 Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I'm finding it difficult to believe you aren't using any custom scenery, this park is great! I agree with what dmaxsba said about the bushes, keep them down to like the first roof.
Corkscrewy Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Don't worry boys, I changed it and I do have to agree. It looks much better. Thanks for that! Â And yeah i'm trying to do it without custom scenery to prove you can still make a decent park without any. That and I don't have internet on the computer I play RCT2 on. Yup, so I have to put the pictures on a flash drive and open it on my Mac and that's how I put the pictures up.
djbrcace1234 Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Tedious indeed. Â The only thing I hate with Non custom scenery is the lack of good roofs. Â That's the only thing I dislike about the game in that sense because you don't need custom items to make a still pretty sub par Park.
Corkscrewy Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Dude, my sentiments exactly!! I would never need any custom scenery if i was offered better roofs. And it wouldn't hurt to have an easier way to make custom scenery, like in RCT3.
Corkscrewy Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Hello all, Michael Scarn here again. In recent news we recently asked the general public what they thought of the Doolittles restaurant. And officially we can report that an astounding 83% of people were for removing the vines to the roof. That's what we've been busy with here at Cloverdale. I'm pleased to announce the removal of the vies really did add a different feel to the building. In other news we've added a few more buildings for eating and relaxing as well as a gift shop. I was only able to grab 2 pictures before I left for the day. -Michael Scarn SCR22.BMP Really adds a better affect to Doolittles. I can't wait to have the first bite! SCR23.BMP Here we have the parks bumper cars enclosed in this building. The building to the right has souvenirs and other little gifts to remember your day at Cloverdale!
Mastersax68 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Nice. It makes the restaurant more clean looking, and looks like an actual 5-star restaurant. I agree completely about the lack of NCSO roofs. Looking forward to the next update.
Corkscrewy Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 I come to you all today with only one small update. Works still coming along nicely. Everyones busy working on the smallest details to make sure the park is picture perfect in time for opening season. The only picture I have for you is for the layout of Invictus, the parks Mega-Lite roller coaster designed by Intamin. A company known for making some of the best roller coasters out there today. SCR24.BMP Plenty of theming left but personally I feel that Invictus fits perfectly along side of the midway. Also gives bystanders a great view of the first drop that takes riders under the walkway not only once but 2 times!
ANJLOVER14 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Michael Scarn- "The Office" references FTW!! The park's looking great! I like the design to the giga.
Corkscrewy Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Finally!!! haha I was wondering how long it would be before someone caught onto that. haha
Mastersax68 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Looks good, but I would change 2 things. First, that is not a Mega-Lite. It appears to be just an Intamin Giga, like ANJLOVER pointed out. You should change your advertising so that it matches what you really have there. Secondly, I would add some shrubs to the mix of trees you have. Also, try building them in clusters or veins, as opposed to just all over the place. It will make things look better+more realistic.
Corkscrewy Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 Well I have plenty of theming left to do trust me on that one. I'm not nearly done with scenery yet.  And here's how I look at it.  Classification of Intamin roller coasters.  400+ ft = Strata 300+ ft = Giga 200+ ft = Mega 100+ ft = Mega-Lite  And granted my roller coaster is 165 feet tall I think it falls in its proper classification.
Mastersax68 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I understand, but a Mega-Lite is(so far, at least) one layout, and under 100ft. tall. I think if you changed the class of the coaster, everything would be better. Maybe I'm wrong, and if that be the case, just ignore this.
Corkscrewy Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 The Mega-Lites I've seen are over 100 feet tall. But yes they have a more compact layout and not an out-and-back style but I digress. It will be classified however seems fit because as of now yes, now I'm a little unsure of the original. haha
hydra Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Im pretty sure the point of a Mega-Lite is lots of thrills in a compact footprint. I have been on Kawasemi and its layout is exactly the same as the other 3. Honestly that does not sound or look like a Mega-Lite. IMO
Corkscrewy Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 Yes I know. I just was unsure what intamin classified their coasters over 100 feet tall. I'll just go with Mega. haha
imawesome1124 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Your classification of this coaster is correct, a Mega is 150 or higher. I love the layout of the Intamin, the color scheme is nice too, a perfect fit for the park.
Corkscrewy Posted September 16, 2010 Author Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) Hello all, Michael Scarn here again. Sorry for the lack of updates lately we've been really busy over here at Cloverdale lately to get ready for opening season. We have many exciting updates for you today. So lets get to it shall we. SCR31.BMP Guests will get a great view of Invictus' first drop from here! SCR25.BMP This is the parks raft ride. Timber Gulch will take riders on an exciting and wet ride through a forest. Don't forget to bring a towel! SCR26.BMP Cryptic Nile. The egyptian themed dark ride here at Cloverdale. SCR27.BMP The small maze located next to The Cove restaurant. I'm sure you'll work up quite an appetite wandering around the maze! SCR28.BMP This section of the park is coming along quite nicely I must say. SCR29.BMP Overview so far. Almost ready for opening season! SCR30.BMP Another view of the north section of the park. Edited September 16, 2010 by Corkscrewy
djbrcace1234 Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 You could have not placed that Intamin any better! Perfect last screen in my opinion. Â The windows on the dark ride are questional though. BUt I don't care really. Â Can't wait to see the peeps roam free!
dmaxsba2408 Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I agree with everything ^ said. Â Nice additions with maze and rapids ride, but my favorite picture if that dark ride, windows or not, I love the where you placed the station and the way the track comes out the front toward the path and back in. Just looks perfect.
PSiRockin Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I second that the dark rides building is amazing. The placement of everything works great!
