10ryansmith
Hello, I've been around TPR for a while but have never posted a park. This is becuase I am a bit shy and I really dont handle critizism well but I am prepared now (thanks to dmaxsba2408) to release this park that I have started. First off, I have been playing for years and I am over critical to myself and am constantly changing everything, from the paths, shops, CS, to the flow of peeps when they get into the park. I have restarted an entire park because I didnt like the layout, peep flow, several of the rides and it had almost fourteen months of work into it. I will try to control myself and plan better but no promises. Ok, to the park, is "located" outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. On to the pics, SCR1.BMP The the entire park. SCR2.BMP This is the main "midway" of the park. There are several shops inside of the buildings. SCR4.BMP This is the small wooden coaster. SCR5.BMP More coaster. SCR14.BMP The changes that have been made to the ride. SCR16.BMP Then there is this one. Im iffy on it. I liked the teepee's in the photo above this one but I have nothing else to put with them. So, I made the building and another garden. Which does the public like best?
djbrcace1234
Great start! Love the theming, and I like the compact woodie. I like the one with the teepee's as well, simple, but elegant.
dmaxsba2408
Sweet you brought it out... I already told you in private that I like the one with the teepee's better than the other but thought I would make it official by saying it here. I do think the flowers are nice and I really like how you got that path out there I also like the added building under the coaster. It continues the look you have at other points on the ride. How about a little bit of both by keeping the building teepee's and path and adding in some cactus, wooden junk and a just a few flowers and if that path is really connected to the park how about a bathroom inside the building under the coaster. The flower and statue grouping you have by the rides station house and line area is almost perfect just needs a few of those 1/4 tile flowers replace with a few 1/4 tile cactus to give it a bit of a roughed up look. Dotrobot
I'd add a whole section just for teepees. As an indian reservation. Put them in a circle with the mine pile of junk in the middle to imitate a burnt down campfire. And just asking but how are the peeps gonna use the shops when there's no path leading to them? Maybe zero clearance path to connect to the shop?
10ryansmith
Small update. SCR17.BMP Added Merry-go-round and the revamped Indain area.
Dotrobot
I like the update but you should consider changing both your carousel and station's entrance/exit to Log cabin. They should blend in a little better.
triggernel
I like the placement, that will make kid-swapping really easy. Keep the updates coming!
CoasterCreator9
Very nice! I love compact coasters of any type, and that woodie is no exception! The only think I'm not too fond of is the path around the woodie.. But hey, that's just a personal opinion. Looks great!
dmaxsba2408
^ I agree about the path type. It just is not working for me either. I don't know what all types you have available in your game but maybe try out a few different version. ^^Child swap location? Never thought of that. I think the placement of the Carousel is perfect but the whole child swap thing just made it even more perfect. The teepee's and wood junk along with totems all are working well together. 10ryansmith
Larger update. I added an Arrow Shuttle loop and an Intamin Impulse. Im iffy on the impulse but I like how the arrow came out. On to the pics: SCR19.BMP The new area SCR20.BMP The Intamin. SCR21.BMP The Food court inside the buildings next to the Intamin.
triggernel
The Impulse certainly un-Intamin, but I think the supports really look good with the rest of the park. Great Update!
dmaxsba2408
Love the look of the old Arrow Shuttle Loop and it's placement. I can't say the same for the Impulse though. It is a good space filler but in this case I don't think the space needed filled. It is also a bit short on the take off end. I do like the way you supported it though. I suggest moving it to another location and making it's launch track longer before the front spike. Those kinds of coaster (Heartline Twisters, Impulse, Shuttle Loops) do make great filler rides so save that one till your in a spot that needs a coaster but you don't really have the space for it. This spot really doesn't need another coaster and it's just too small of an area even for an impulse. Great update and the park is really starting to look good! 10ryansmith
Thanks for the kind works. I put the Intamin there as a filler and I dont like it but wanted to see if others did. I love the Arrow Shuttle. I was surprised that I got it to function without hacking the hell out of it. (Now to get the Chiller to work [hint]). Again, thanks for the kind words. Stoksy
I what you did with hacking the saloons over the top of the food stalls, adds a nice touch I think. When you get rid of the Intamin *hint hint*, just turn that area into full-scale food court, with undercover seating, stalls, and maybe a wild west show or something. The supports on the Arrow look nice, but I noticed you used the same supports on the footpaths which IMO doesn't look entirely stable, maybe using walls or something to connect the supports to the ground? 10ryansmith
^ Thanks. All of that credit goes to dmaxba. I was thinking about it and he showed me how. I know that the supports for the Arrow station are on the flimsy side but it is the best that I could do and keep my sanity. I tried everything, I worked on it for several hours one night and said f*** it when I could not get it the way that I wanted it. To dmaxba, I used the ParkDat tool for the first time and it was a life saver. Thanks for showing me it. I was missing the Tall Wooden Fence for the new mine train coaster that is from one of the other parks (SFGA) where I was messing around. Thanks again. Also, I am having issues getting your mine train to load into my game (and the gigalooper trains). What am I doing wrong?? I go BOTH was that you told me about in the help thread but nothing happened?? Anywho, onto the pictures, More to come. SCR23.BMP I took the Impulse out, it sucked I know. And the overview of where the new coaster is. SCR22.BMP Closer look at the Mini Mine Train.
dmaxsba2408
Forgive me but I don't remember what your referring to in the help thread. What problem(s) are you having getting custom rides into you game are you having? Like the new update, the mine train while short is nicely done and the entire are looks better without the impulse coaster.
Mastersax68
I think it looks great, but maybe if you banked those curves it would look better? I know this would mean reconstructing that whole little area, but if it is a mini-mine train, I think it should be more on the gentler side of the intensity spectrum. What are it's ratings, by the way. If everything is perfectly fine, then just forget this post, I was trying to make your coaster less intense, if that makes sense. 10ryansmith
^Nevermind. I figured out the program. ^^ The Mine Train is fine. I cant remember the exact numbers but it is Medium, Medium, Low. Small update. Larger Project so it is going to take awhile. SCR25.BMP FAR, FAR from finished. Dotrobot
it'd look better with rock surfaces for that arrow.
dmaxsba2408
Mastersax68, that face wasn't for you but for another post that was after yours, I have no idea where it went. It was talking about Oasis the band I think. Hey, I think I see my new mine train! The new coaster looks like it's going to be a exciting ride. Happy to see you go your issue(s) worked out. 10ryansmith
^ You are correct, I was being an idiot and putting them in the wrong folder. That is all there is to the ride pretty much, the station and everything is underground. Again Im iffy on the buildings in the pit, but I can tinker with it. ^Sorry that your new mine trains arent living up to there full potential. I can do a layout like that, around anything, but theming (being me) is hard for me and it takes time. The above pic took eight tries to get it to the point that it would make a good enough teaser to post. Evenythough everything could change. Thanks for all the advice and things. If Im not lazy, ill hopefully get the mine coaster done sometime this weekend or early next week.
dmaxsba2408
It looks fine, just take your time and play it out. Don't be in any kind of rush.
10ryansmith
^ Im sorry to say this but I couldnt get the mine coaster how I wanted it. It's a small plot of land, It wont fit with the other plans that I have. It has been deleted from the park. I added a boomerang coaster, with a boomerang. Onto the photos... SCR26.BMP The new overview. SCR27.BMP The Boomerang SCR28.BMP Both spikes.
