Califolf Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Liking Dino Rapids! Looks quite immersive with the trees and all ^.^ Also, seems like a lot fun! Keep it up!
Kraken & Manta Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 Mike: Thanks! I must say before I added the trees the ride felt rather lacking... but with them it felt complete. Just shows how much some foliage helps djbrcace: Thanks! And nice little hack on the station! After (another....) long period without an update, I finally finished the park's next addition. 1986 With the park's huge attendance rise from the addition of Hurricane and the river rapids. So this year they tried to build a new coaster that would out-do ever other ride in the park. After seeing the success of Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens: The Old Country, the park decided to hire Arrow Dynamics to build a terrain suspended coaster for them too. Although being in Florida, there was no terrain. So building of the hills and lakes in itself took a year. The finished product was quite good. SCR5.BMP Here it is! The current largest suspended coaster in the world! SCR6.BMP Besides just the ride there is a small, winter themed village that sells hot chocolate, cookies, and other wintery things. SCR7.BMP The beginning of the ride has slow turns before the lift. Also you can see the walkway to the ride, and the maintenance building, that has one of the three trains in it. SCR8.BMP It's a terrain coaster, so it reacts to the terrain. SCR9.BMP Besides just trees, the coaster has some near misses with buildings, water, and rocks! SCR10.BMP The ride's final is a series of fast paced turns through dense forest and several turns near water. SCR11.BMP And here's an overview of the park. Still plenty of room, but what's next? I don't know... Hope you enjoyed the update!!! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!!!
CoasterCreator9 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Woah, I really like that suspended! The station detail is great.
djbrcace1234 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 When I first saw the coaster, I wasn't sure how you were going to do it, but the end results are just fantastic!
Kraken & Manta Posted April 16, 2011 Author Posted April 16, 2011 (edited) I'm back again! After a couple weeks of being un-able to build in my normal parks, (and after a few months for this park...) 1987 This year, instead of building the "biggest and baddest" coasters and thrill rides, the park decided to renovate the oldest areas of the park. Renovation would make the older area more attractive, with a cleaner look and would bring the buildings up to new codes, and along with these the park could enhance the theming to help it compete with parks up in Central Florida. SCR3.BMP An Overview of the completed renovations. SCR11.BMP This area received a wooden walkway, which really went well with the area's theming. SCR5.BMP The entrance itself was largly changed, from a huge mass of concrete and planters with soaring weeds, to a lush, old timer theme with beautiful greenery. SCR9.BMP The other a large changes were made to the fountain and train station. Both of which are 100% different from the originals, and both now have a new life! SCR12.BMP Unfortunately, not all changes were good... Comet, one of the last two remaining Harry G. Traver coasters lost it's old Prior & Church/Traver trains for new PTC trains. The new ride experience doesn't compare to the old one. But the P&S trains were falling apart and couldn't be used anymore... Hope you enjoyed this update! What's next? I actually don't know this time.... 1988... hmm... Edited May 31, 2011 by Kraken & Manta
PSiRockin Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Too bad about the trains, but those improvements are going to be good for a long time! They are visually very nice.
braztaz Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Loving the fourth and fifth shot. I'm glad you're focusing on bettering the atmosphere now, too. And sucks to hear another classic ride lost it's classic trains! Keep up the great work!
Kraken & Manta Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 1988 Remained a quite year for the park, a small gift shop opened up across the lake from Hopper, and nothing more. 1989 However, when it came too 1989, Adventure Beach again created a great coaster. Aiming for a ride a bit under the intensity of Panther, Hurricane, or *yet to be named suspended coaster*, but still an entirely unique experience that the whole family could enjoy. There choice fell to a well proven model, and even more so manufacturer, of the shuttle loop by Anton Schwarzkopf. The park located a long and thin plot of land on the edge of the forest section of the park, which the model would fit into perfectly. Construction started and now, the ride is complete and open to the masses! Moccasin SCR6.BMP Here is the ride herself, the fourth Schwarzkopf and third Snake related ride in the park. SCR10.BMP One side of the station, facing into the forest. For the station, I tried to pull of the image of Storm's station in the previous picture, but a more rugged-shack feel to it. SCR9.BMP The other side of the station, which is actually the entryway to the ride untitled.bmp LOOP-DE-LOOP!!! Also note the small cave at the bottom of the image, the opposite side of the forest also has a cave as an entry way, so this one kinda more solidified the idea. And that's pretty much it! Hope you like'd it! Any and all criticism is welcomed and encouraged!
PSiRockin Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 The supports are great. Much better than the orginal ones. I say for the first two que tiles, just use the wooden tiles like the indoor part.
