NEWS: Gatorland adds Zip Line over gator marsh

Gatorland is promising a new adrenaline rush to guests at its theme park, with the addition of a zip line course this fall.

 

The park said the Eco Zip Line will carry riders over the park’s jumping Cuban Crocodiles, then give riders a bird’s eye view of the more than 150 alligators in the park’s breeding marsh. It will reach as high as 56 feet, with speeds of nearly 30 miles per hour, the park said.

 

Gatorland is the latest Central Florida attraction to adding zipping to its offerings. Grand Lakes Orlando Resort, the Central Florida Zoo, and Forever Florida all added zip lines last year.

 

The 45-minute experience includes an orientation session, a nature walk through the swamp, four zips and a swinging bridge. The price tag is $60, which includes all day admission to Gatorland.

 

The construction of the Eco Zip Line is being managed by Global Expeditions, Inc., which is located in Bozeman, Mont.

I did a Zip line course in central Idaho last August and our instructor mentioned this one was being built. I believe it's the same company/person building it. While it won't be as tall, long, or fast as the one in Idaho, it will definitely be unique. ...can't wait.

Sounds terrifying. Just being on the bridges/train over the lakes filled with gators freaked me out when I was a kid, can't imagine doing a zip line over them

The price tag really is not that bad considering you get admission to Gatorland as well. As stated above, it is great to see this park keep adding more and more!

I've never done a zip line attraction and this sounds like the one do do first. Great way to live out some James Bond-style fantasies. (If only Jane Seymour were waiting at the exit... )

I have still yet to do a zip line here in the states. My wife and I did one in Costa Rica near Arenal (SkyTrek) and it was INSANE!! I know that the ones here wont compare to that one, but I still want to give it a shot.
