jedimaster1227 Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 PARC Management has sent us a press release about Splashtown's latest addition, "Stingray Racer." The owners of SplashTown are once again investing in the popular Houston-area water park with the addition of “Stingray Racer,” a giant slide complex featuring a total of six new water slide lanes. The five-story tall speed slide will loom over the park at 55-feet high and will be visible from quite a distance with vibrant bright blue and orange slides. Riders on “Stingray Racer” will begin their adventure by dropping into a twisting, enclosed section of track that curves around the five-story tall tower before popping out into a bright, open section of track that bumps and waves to a non-skid run-out that gently marks the finish line. Guests race head-first on smooth, foam mats specially designed for speed slides like “Stingray Racer.” “When we opened RipQurl in 2008, guest reaction was tremendous,” said SplashTown General Manager Jody Kneupper. “This year, it’s particularly thrilling to be adding something as huge as Stingray Racer. With six different slides, guests will want to ride over and over, though I suspect watching the racers might be as much of an attraction as riding.” Opening day for the 2010 season is April 24. Families can take advantage of the lowest price of the year on Season Passes and secure an entire summer vacation filled with fun for just $59.99 per pass, if purchased in a four-pack. Visit http://www.splashtownpark.com for details and a full operating calendar. SplashTown, located just minutes north of Houston in Spring, TX, features 15 rides and attractions with a combined slide total of 37. An impressive line-up of rides includes The Tornado, Texas Free Fall, and Thunder Run. For families, SplashTown offers Wild Wave Pool; Blue Lagoon Activity Pool with swings, geysers, water cannons, a diving rock, and waterfall; and Leaky Pipes children’s activity center. Poolside, private, shaded cabanas are available making SplashTown a perfect tropical vacation location that’s affordable and close to home.
