atlantakid Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I wish Dollywood would cater to the thrill seekers more. They need at least 3 new coasters. They need to realize family's have changed. Thill seekers want to ride bigger and better. There's nothing wrong with family rides or parks, but take head from Islands of adventure they have both, thrills and family rides. I think Dollywood would grow even more. It would be like Island/mountain/magickindom adventure.
the ghost Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 No offense, and I respect your opinion, but NO! Big coasters are the last thing Dollywood needs. Dollywood is an atmospheric park like Silver Dollar City, and even Disneyland(you can see no coasters inside the park unless your right there.) If you want Dollywood to turn into the next Knotts then coasters would fit, but if you want to keep the awesome stuff they have now be paient for additions. Also, Dollywood has a world class GCI coaster, a Eurofighter(1 of 2 in the US) and probably the smoothest arrow around, not to mention blazing furry, which looks like a great family ride.
SharkTums Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 No. Plus, your argument is very, very flawed.
Electerik Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 ^ You mean, like, the fact that Dollywood and IOA have about the same number of coasters already? /You'll grow out of it, kid.
ginzo Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 A lot of people who go to Dollywood don't go there for the thrill rides at all. In fact, many purists don't even like the number of rides they have there now. I think they've done a superb job of creating broad appeal. Just plopping down a bunch of rides like it was Six Flags or Cedar Fair would ruin the charm of Dollywood. This is not to say that more rides can't be added. But that it has to be done slowly and carefully over time. Basically, how they've handled it so far is the way to go.
SharkTums Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I have a feeling this is going to turn ugly, fast. I'm going to close it. I understand the OP's feelings as a teenage boy that wants big rides, but that's just not always appropriate for all parks. Feel free to discuss your opinion in the main Dollywood thread.
