Hello,

I'm new to the board, and I plan on visiting Darien Lake for a few hours on my way to Cedar Point next week.

I've been reading everywhere that the PARC management parks are having a lot of operational issues this season (rides not running, sections of parks closed, maintenence not being kept up, etc). Are their any TPR members in/around Darien that would be able to give a status update on the way the park is running?

I'll be there from park opening (10:30am) until around noon or one o'clock, just doing a credit run pretty much. My main concern is just that Ride of Steel be up and running, because that's the reason why I want to visit the park.

Darien Lake is in good shape. The only ride I would worry about would be Motocoaster as I know they have been having trouble with it besides that I would not worry they take good care of this park.

I was there a few weeks ago, and I have to say Ride of Steel is operating at full capacity. They're running both trains, and with the Motocoaster it's hit and miss, because while I was there it went down for abit and was up for awhile and then went down again when we (me and my dad) left.

The park has been run fine by PARC, it's just the Motocoaster having some problems.

Yeah, you should be fine. RoS is going fine, although they only run one train on some days. I have been able to get through all the credits in about four hours on a normal day.

I was there in May and everything was up and running. Now, some coasters didn't open until the evening, like Motocoaster, and Boomerang, which are in the back of the park, but that was because of lack of staffing because school wasn't out yet. You shouldn't have any problems now. You should also easily get all the credits in a couple hours at the most.

Thanks for the info everyone...now I'm pretty excited for this park. I'm really looking forward to ROS after riding SROS at SFA 2 weeks ago, and finding it to be an excellent coaster. The fact that ROS is over water should be pretty cool.
