CoasterNERD502 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 OMG Hershey Park is my new favorite park! We got on SuperDooperLooper first. It was mehh after the loop. Then Great Bear. We waited in line for an hour and it was defiantly worth it! Next was Fahrenheit and OMG that was the best ride ever!!!! Even though the line was an hour and 30 minutes, we waited and it was worth it! Storm Runner was up and down all day so we never got a chance to ride it. I wish though because the launch looked so intense! After Farenheit, we rode Wildcat and it wasn't rough like I heard it would be. And the line was only 20 minutes. After that, it was time for Lightning Racer! My side won and it was a blast! Before we left we rode Fahrenheit and Lightning Racer one more time! Fahrenheit at night is the best, and the line died down to only 45-50 minutes! Lightning Racer was a 2 train wait the first time and a walk-on the second time. I LOVE HERSHEY PARK!!!
Wild 1 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 ^ Sounds like you had a great time! And thanks for the info that Storm Runner is running even if it is up and down all day.
TYTL Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Yes, the mobile site would definitely be helpful with a cell phone, that's if you have internet usage available on it. Mine is capable of internet but we never got connected to it. You'll also be able to tell on the sign in front of the entrance which also informs you what is shut down, but then you will not want to get your hand stamped to see what's shut down all the time. One thing I wish they would get is somekind of flashpass system, like what was mentioned here. They are popular and would definitely cut the wait time down on most coasters. I definitely see how popular such a system is (Fastpass) when we're at the Disney parks. I do love how they put the singles line with Fahrenheit, they need to do something similar with Comet, Great Bear and Storm Runner due to their popularity, if the park doesn't want to invest in a virtual queue line system. My dad accessed the mobile thing on his Blackberry, all it said was the best time of day to ride, not the real-time status. Has it changed? After that, it was time for Lightning Racer! My side won and it was a blast! Which color train did you happen to be on?
HPCrazy Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I wouldn't doubt it was red/Lightning. That side usually wins more than green/Thunder - lol!
Jcoaster Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I love Hershey for having very, very, unique rides. But I really dissaproved of them removing the Canyon rapids.
CHILLERLC1 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 They basically used the spot of the old rapids reservoir to build this new wave pool. It was quite different than the Great Adventure model being an Intamin rapids right? It weaved back and forth on its course as it lost elevation. I had fun on it and truly got soaked. I'm bummed that we lost more amusement park stuff for waterpark attractions. Is Hershey being blemished. Will I put it in the same pot as California Great America soon?
TYTL Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I wouldn't doubt it was red/Lightning. That side usually wins more than green/Thunder - lol! The last time I was on it, thunder won. I was like OMG where are they? I look at the lift hill, and sure enough, Lightning was stuck. I agree with all who say Hershey is going with modern fads and all. If they had all of the park looking as nice as the front, they wouldn't have to keep up with the times as much. Front=great rides, great scenery. Middle=Great rides, Meh scenery. Back=Good and okay rides, nonexistent scenery.
Wild 1 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I was at Hershey today and all the coasters and all the rides were running, however much of the waterpark was closed and something happened that I thought would never happen.... They were only running one side of Lightning Racer!! Thunder was the open one. I wonder why that happened? Also Storm Runner is open and running however it was down quite a bit around lunchtime.

The result was water rides and roller coasters.
CoasterNERD502 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I rode both sides. The first time it was Thunder and we won by a landslide. The second time it was Lightning and we barely beat them. I guess I'm just a natural born winner!
