PKI Jizzman Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 Yeah, so apparently someone DID steal my phone and tried to pawn it back to a Verizon hut somewhere in Indiana. They have it now, but they can't ship it so I'm kind of screwed with that. Haha dude that's crazy! I knew you were hoping to find it behind wall of water 1
spaceace12 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 One trick to taking pictures of things that are going fast is to follow the object before you want to take the picture, then once it hits where you want to take the picture, take it. If you shutter speed is low enough, the back ground will be blurry, if it is high due to lighting, it will just be standing still.

Not trying to sound like an ass, but.....yeah, I know that I've had a few photo classes and I've been working with the D40 for about a year now.
jamesdillaman Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 ^ You don't have to try to sound like an a$$, JZ, it just comes naturally to you. You're gifted. -James Dillaman
Emiroo Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 This is an extremely hard to get shot. They almost never let the second train go until after the first is past this point. 2 train Voyage shot = Epic Win! And some interesting trivia for you: the flaming diver...is a girl!
BeemerBoy Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Yeah..55mph right into a very abrupt stop. I don't know about the front row, but all the others are cramped. I'm 5'8" and I SMASHED my knees in the seat infront of me. This concerns me a bit. We might be there on Sunday, and being 6'2'', I fear for my knees now....sort of. I've just heard so many mixed reviews about this thing, I really don't know what to think. Guess I'll just just have to find out for myself. Great pics, as usual.
Emiroo Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 ^I haven't (knock on wood) had a problem with the knee smashing (I'm 5'10"). What I've had a problem with is the damn thing being open. I've been to HW 5 times this season and have only gotten to ride on 2 of the trips. It's constantly down. There appears to be an issue with the mechanism (or related sensor) that pushes the boat from the platform onto the ramp. I know it's an Intamin, but it's bordering on rediculous. I'm sure the park cannot be happy about this as not only is it their new ride, but they have never been known to have extensive downtime on any of their rides. At any rate if you get to ride it, it is fun and you will get wet.
BeemerBoy Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 ^ So it's basically like Maximum RPM at HRP? Good to know if we do decide to make a quick visit, that we may be foiled in our attempt to ride. Thanks for that info!
DBru Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 ^If you stay the entire day at the park, you will most likely get a ride. During my visits, it has been open the first and last hour of the day...and is constantly being worked on in the time between.
spaceace12 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 They have been adjusting the ride...keep in mind...the ride was doing final tests literally a few weeks before the park opened. Give it a few more weeks at that and I bet it will be open all the time.
linearinduction Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Great Photos like always JZ! I love your Camera and your PTRs! - Sid

It was open a for 20-30 minutes total when I was there...I almost forgot these pictures! Then, ALL OF A SUDDEN...Pilgrim's Plunge turns into MEGAS XLR...and Megas walks away. The end. Hm...nothing under the boat...but what's that noise? These guys have been baking in the sun for a good hour or so.
