Six Flags New York [RCT2] - NO CUSTOM SCENERY OR TRAINERS

I started this park last year I believe after going to Six Flags Great America in May. After visiting the park, I decided I wanted to make an RCT2 Six Flags park. I picked a random state and threw the words Six Flags in front of it without thinking about how many other Six Flags parks were in the region. Eventually, I will come up with a different name for the park as soon as I redo the entrance plaza.

 

As the topic description points out, this park was done with no custom scenery or trainers. I tend not to use custom scenery as my copy of RCT tends to act funny with custom scenery (every time I make a scenerio with custom supports and then I actually start my park, the custom supports scenery has completely disappeared). Although I have a trainer, I did not use it on this park. I used an old flatland scenerio my brother made. Unfortunately, he forgot to finish the buildings at the front of the park, deciding he would finish them later, not realizing that they were outside park property. I will probably fix/destroy those buildings in the future by converting the park into a scenerio, going into the editor, destroying the buildings, then saving over it.

 

Anyways, on to the first set of screenshots. I will post a download link later if enough people are interested.

One of the newer attractions in the area is Gotham Attack, a dark ride through the streets of Gotham as some of Batman's foes all launch an assault on Gotham at the same time.

After the opening, the ride becomes a completely different animal, turning and diving into a tunnel leading to an Immelman. The ride features 5 inversions.

The first part of the ride is similar to the original B:TR, but on a bigger scale. Riders drop about 120 feet into a tall vertical loop before entering a heartline twist.

Here's the star of the area, "Batman Knight Flight". This intense B&M invert replaced an older "Batman: The Ride" clone.

This area of the park has undergone a few changes. The roto-drop, "Superman Krypton Khaos", replaced a rather unpopular Top Spin attraction.

DC Comics City is home to many attractions, including the park's observation tower.

Here's an overview of the second area just to the right of the Carousel, "DC Comics City". It was one of the four original areas when the park was built.

Here's the first area of the park, "New York, New York". This area is (obviously) the oldest area in the park, and will probably go through a renovation in the near future.

I didn't want too many pictures in one post, so on to the next two areas. These next two areas are the remaining two areas that existed when the park first opened. All of the areas after the original four are more elaborately themed.

Here's the park's log flume, "Lumberjack Falls" (I think that's its name). It's a rather long log flume.

Here's another overview of the area, showing off the coaster, "Woodland Wanderer". It's actually pretty intense, so it's more of a family coaster than a kiddie coaster.

Here's the signature attraction of the area: Niagara Rapids. The ride culminates in a drop down a replica of the falls.

Here's an overview of the park's classic wooden coaster, "Old Glory". This oldie still packs plenty of airtime! This screenshot also shows an overview of the "Niagara Falls" section of the park.

This part of "Americana" features such classics like the Scrambler and the Ferris Wheel. This part is also going to go under renovation soon.

The next area of the park, just north of "New York, New York" and "DC Comics City" is "Americana", a patriotic area with more traditional theme park rides. Just off the coast of Lake America is the flower bed.

Here's the entrance to Castaway and a view of the hills with the most airtime on the ride.

The most recent addition to the land is Castaway, a GCI woodie. The ride features many high speed turns and a station fly-by.

Here's the area's first roller coaster, Typhoon. This Intamin coaster remains a big crowd pleaser and constantly battles with another coaster (to be shown later) for the biggest Guest Favorite. Note that the ride just came out of a breakdown, hence the completely empty train.

Here's an overview of the area just west of the entrance, Shipwreck Shores. It was the first area to be added after the park's opening. (If you look at the bottom right corner, you can see a sneak peek of the next land).

Here's the rather small kiddie land of the park, "Giant's Garden". The ride features its very own coaster, "Flight of the Bumblebee". The wooden structure at the bottom right of the screenshot is supposed to be a giant fence, which serves as the main entrance of the land. Only one area left to explore!

Here's the third section of the ride, which travels around "Blast Off!", the park's S&S towers. The suspended monorail gives tours of the area, similar to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.

Here's the second part of the coaster. Riders dive in and out of the mountain and even blast out the top!

Here's the entrance to the land's signature attraction, "Test Flight". This long and thrilling coaster is divided into three main parts. The first part is a short coaster setting that travels underground and ends up climbing one of two high speed lift hills (think like Maverick's first "launch"). Also seen here is the main drop on the ride and the second high speed lift hill. Riders plunge straight down into the bottom of the crater.

Here's the overview of the next area, "Area 51", based on science fiction space travel. In the back of the area, you can see a large clear spot, which will be for future development.

I love your park. I find it very creative and realistic except the themeing is way to elaborate for Six Flags lol .

 

I know, I have a tendency to start a Six Flags park, then make it way too "good" for a Six Flags park. Thanks!

Here's the station for the star of the land, "T-Rex". I'm going to update it in the future since it's basically a giant metal box. The special feature of the station is that the ride actually blasts through it twice. "T-Rex" is the other roller coaster that continuously battles for the top of the Guests' favorite list. The ride features several close encounters with the ride's namesake, along with high speed turns, and tons of airtime. The ride's design is based off of Raging Bull at SFGAm.

Here's a small safari attraction that was added a short time after the section opened. On this ride, guests can get a close-up of the dinosaurs.

The research facility, to contrast, is rather industrial looking. Despite it's intimidating look, its main purpose is to peacefully study dinosaurs.

Here's a shot of the lakeside part. There's a tour through the caves here, and a hot springs area. There's also a river raft ride.

Here's an overview of the last area, "Dinosaur Jungle". This section of the park is actually split into two: The lakeside section, which is more peaceful and natural, and the research facility, which is more industrial.

Dude!! This park looks great! I think have themed each ride perfectly to the section it is in, and similarly each section to what I would imagine them to look like. And the fact that you did this with no CS or anything...phenomenal. Keep it up!

 

My only concern is I feel that the city section is a little cluttered feeling, but that is just my opinion.

 

Is the park done or will you add some stuff here and there?

Thanks! The park is not done quite yet. There's still some remodeling to do in the entrance, and the T-Rex station (It's still going to look blocky to fit in with the rest of the area, but it's not going to be one giant box). Plus, I've still got room for some rides, including the big area in Area 51.

This park is amazing. The entire DC section is just amazing. I would not have the patience for making all those building and having them spaced so closely together. The coasters are pretty creative as well. To do all this with just the base scenery and no help from a trainer is shocking to me. Great job!

Thanks for all of the comments, guys! So, here's a quick update with what's going on in the park. It seems like some heavy construction has begun in the Area 51 section of the park. There hasn't been any official announcement on what's being built yet, though.

Here's a more recent photo. Part of the track is now missing from the ride. Could this mean the ride is getting removed?

This photo was taken a few days ago. Skytram has closed and part of the path leading to it is gone.

Well, it looks like the park designers agreed.

 

Six Flags New York Park President, Mark Fields, announced a new flying roller coaster, "Zero Hour", that is scheduled to open next season in the Area 51 section of the park. "Zero Hour" is being built by Swiss coaster designer Bolliger and Mabillard and will be the park's ninth roller coaster.

 

"We contacted B&M and said we wanted a unique flying coaster," said Mark Fields. "While most other flying coasters focus on simulating the sensation of flight, 'Zero Hour' uses the flying and lay-down positions to create an exciting, out-of-control feeling. We really wanted a ride that would keep riders guessing until the very end."

 

This announcement comes days after the closure of the park's "SkyTram" attraction and the removal of some of the ride's track. Rumors began to circulate that the attraction was being removed, but the park has said that the ride is getting a new station and is being rerouted to better handle crowds for the new ride.

 

 

The park also released two pieces of concept art of the new attraction.
