B&M Hypercoaster Contest

Welcome to my latest contest!

 

I will allow up to 6 entrants and winner will be chosen by poll. (Don't worry, I come to the site everyday and ALL deadlines I set for myself will be met)

 

Contest will run until MAY 1ST. Late entrys will be allowed until MAY 3RD.

 

Here are the rules:

 

Track: B&M Hyper

Train(s): 1-3

Rows: 9

Terraforming Allowed: Yes

ALL supports my be hand made

AHG: Yes but not required

Length: 4,500ft-5,750ft

Height: 175ft-235ft

Max/Min Vertical G Force: +4.5/-1.1

Max/Min Lateral G Force: +/-.7

Must pass tunnel and E-stop Test

 

Station must be in the box with the PURPLE X.

Lift must be in the box with the BLUE X.

Track must stay within RED box.

Supports CAN go out side red box.

 

3DS is allowed but you have to PACK it up!

Some questions...

you say max height is 235 but you say terraforming is allowed...now is the height based from the 0.00 or from the highest point of the track to the support?

 

Personally I feel the lateral forces should be +/- 1

 

but anyway here is some progress shots...

EDIT:The max height restriction is from the highest point of track to the "Ground".

Sorry to double post, but would the four of you be interested in having this turn into like a 2-3 round contest. I would have to get more entrants and I am fine with that, but I just wanted to get your guys' thoughts.

No, just one comp at a time. Plus multiple comps in a row can be a bit nagging...

 

Oh, yeah, and uhh you need to make the lift section longer, or drop that bit completely (highly recommended) in future comps. You want the layout to be creative right? Well where's the creativity in tracks that all have similar shapes?

I just am seeing what everyone can do in a given space. I was thinking for the next competition that I do, I will just give an area for the WHOLE coaster to go and not place everything for them.

i personally dont have a problem with the lift section its more than enough room to make a good lift...as you can see from my screen shots

^I think he means that everyone will virtually have to do the same thing with the lift/first drop...and I was concerned about that too. But oh well, I guess it will the be rest of the coasters that matter...

I am not debating on whether or not I should find loopholes, or just fricken build..

 

I currently have.. awesomeness.. even though it may be similar to everyone elses coasters general track shape...

I had a really quick question. Will my coaster get points off if it is extremely un-realistic, but still totally ride able? There are no inversions or anything, but the layout is just "unusual."

^Unusual has many defenitions- depending on who you are. The more "unusual" a track is, the better it can be. As long as it's smooth, and seems like it's attainable by B&M, then heck yeah, go for it
