PhishyBrewer Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 So I’m planning a trip to Europe for around March 2006. Want to hit France, Belgium and Germany. And the reasons for going: Wine, beer and amusement parks. I was wondering, what would be a good plan of action? Fly into what airport? Where should I start? Then go where? Any suggestions on airfare? Right now I’m looking a Lufthansa flights into Frankfurt for $900 round-trip. Thanks! Anything would help. 8)
Hattuchili Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Hey Wally, that sounds good! You can be sure, I will meet you at some Park in Germany! If you need some help about parks in Germany or hotels, please let me know! I have helped Robb and Elissa a little bit with their Trip. Or ask Elissa and Robb, I mean they have made a big trip around Europe! If you want to visit a brewery, you can go to Beck´s or Haacke Beck. These 2 brewerys are in my town and only 1 hour away from Heide Park (Colossos)! I can get a sightseeing tour for the brewery, if you want! --Sören
robbalvey Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Wally, first thing you want to do is research locations you want to hit. We can certainly help when it comes to theme parks, but if there are other things you want to do, narrow down your list of "must visits" and then locate them on a map. From your local AAA office you can get a pretty good "planning map of Europe" (I got mine sitting right here!) and that can help you locate some places on a map to get a general idea of where things are at. You might find that some locations you want to visit might take longer than anticipated due to not being off motorways or being kind of a long way off from another destination (one of the reasons why we didn't get to Fort Fun on our last trip) Once you do that, post about the places, parks, etc you want to see and then we can take it from there! --Robb
PhishyBrewer Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 Are parks in Europe seasonal? Is March a bad time to go, or should I think like May or June? Need to start my research!
SharkTums Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Yeah, almost all the parks in Europe are seasonal. There might be some that are not yet open in March, and if anything cool gets built for next year the new rides might not be open yet. Check the parks websites you are interested in and look at their calendar for this year to get an idea.
roeterich Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 The eastern holidays in Germany start around the 10th april in the next year and all of the parks open with it, so the parks won't be open in march. I think you have to search for another time, I'd recomend early June or late may because the summer vacation starts in late June next year and so the most pupils will write their tests or exams at that time. BTW: German Vacation 2006 If you want any translations, feel free to ask.
PhishyBrewer Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 ^Thanks. I'm going to research more. This will be my very first trip to Europe. Less stress, the better this trip will be. Thanks again!
