Noxegon Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 As some of you may know, three crazy enthusiasts have just returned from a long weekend break in Egypt, during which we visited all the known roller coasters in the country. I've just finished uploading almost one hundred and fifty pictures from the parks to my site. Direct links are: Cairo Land Dream Park Fantazy Land Geroland Koki Park Magic Galaxy Magic Land Sindbad Amusement Park Wonderland I've also attached a few shots here to whet people's appetites. Yup, they've got Roller Skaters in Egypt Riding a Wacky Worm in the shadow of the Giza Pyramids Keeping capacity high on the Wild Mouse at Magic Land
hansrubens Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Great how they pack those trains. They must have a much better capacity than the wild mouse in Dorneypark. ----Hans
palmerleeberry Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 That first photo showing six people riding on one of the cars of the Wild Mouse caused me to do this: No way in the USA would any park load a Wild Mouse car like that when the thing is only designed for only four (4) riders!!! But this is in Egypt and not in the USA where such rules are laxed. But I'm sure the operator knew what he was doing (those riders were loaded in so tightly he'll need a crowbar to pry them out). I'm still !!!

But this is in Eygpt and not in the USA where such rules are laxed. Your comment about no way in the USA might be true for the year 2009. But in the '70s before the seats on many trains were reftitted I remember quite a few coasters letting you jam 3 people across as long as you could fit. Actually last year, I saw 3 kids (around 10-13 years old) squeeze into a car on Knoebel's High Speed Thrill Coaster.

I dunno, I've seen five in those cars on the German fair circuit too. I think weight probably matters more to be honest; those in the middle have a lap bar holding them in just as well as those on the edge...

I seemed to have forgotten that I once saw three small riders ride in the same car on the Rebel Yell roller coaster at Kings Dominion way back in 1980. You can't do that today due to the new seat's restraints. Would Egypt change it's rider's policy in the future? Perhaps not if they can keept the all their riders safe, but I have to admit that is one sure way to keep the line moving.
Noxegon Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 This particular mouse design has a single lap bar per row of seats. For this reason anyone sitting in the middle has the benefit of the bar between their legs and thus will be as secure as either of the two people on the edges.
jamesdillaman Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Your pictures of fantazy land look about the same as the last thread posted here. Were any of the rides open and did you have the courage to go on them? -James Dillaman

Even a line with 20 people can be close to 10 minutes.
Mechanic Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 That's some very interesting graffiti on the Bowling game at Fantazy Land.
DiSab Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 ^That's the first thing I thought when I saw it, too.
