Capitalize
The suggestions on here by some suggesting that Orochi should have been bought by a US park made me wonder if Cedar Point would be upset about that. Since Raptor came first, did Cedar Point know that later a copy would be built overseas? Would a park really care or have a say in the matter as far as clones being built later? If Orochi was brought over here, particularly in the east/mid-west, would Cedar Point be bothered by that?
XII
^Well they don't seem to mind Kingda Ka being at SFGAdv and that is practically a TTD Clone with a few added feet and an extra hill. So I'm guessing no.
robbalvey
^ Most people don't even know that Goliath at SFFT is the same as Great White 20 minutes away at Sea World. I was talking to some people in line for Goliath and they had absolutely *NO IDEA* that the two coasters were exactly the same. "Really? Are you SURE they are the same rides? they don't look the same..." This was a real conversation I had with the real GP! --Robb
Wes
The Cosmic Irony Of Ride Clones: - If there are two of the exact same ride, and as long as they have different colors and name, most people won't notice. - However, any two rides that share the same name (Batman, Space Mountain) are exactly the same to those same people, even if the actual rides share nothing in common. FLIPDUDE
Painful or not, I'm a fan of TOGO coasters, so I hope it gets saved. And I am surprised to hear that one accident caused such a large drop in attendance, but I trust it wasn't the only factor, was it? Then again, this is Japan, and Japan has a different frame of mind, especially regarding things working properly and safely.
Loefet
^ Due to Japanese superstition a death on a ride in a park where it afterwards was discovered that it had appalling maintenance is more or less killed of the park... So I'm pretty sure that the Togo coaster is toast a long time ago, it's already completely removed from the park... Does anyone have any pics of this TOGO Wildstorm? I think I know where it went: While browsing round on a Japanese themepark blog I found yesterday I spotted (out of luck) that he had a post that said something about Orochi and Greenland (Mitsui). I flowed the link posted to a press release about a new ride at Greenland and to my big surprise it was a Togo Wildstorm!! The best thing is that this isn't one of those new version's of the ride (Parabo at Nasu Highland, etc.) but the old completely awesome Togo flat ride of DEATH!! Since Togo is more or less bust and I haven't seen new rides produced by them for years, means that this ride can only come from Expoland. This new ride opened on the 19:th of September this year and is called ジャイロストーム (translates to: Gyro Storm).
