DegoRed Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 DISCLAIMER: First off, in years past, Robb gave me permission to post this in the general forum, cause it's been an annual tradition, plus with the launch of TPRtv who is gonna look in the video forum. That being said I tried to upload this to TPRtv MULTIPLE times and it never worked. On my mac it would just keep asking me to put in the information, it would never take me to the upload screen. Then I tried on my PC and it would upload, but after it was finished it would say my session timed out...SO...that's why in order to see the video you will have to follow the youtube link. But since I have the option to watch it in high quality, it won't be that bad. You can see the video Just in time for Christmas....So another year, and another re-incarnation of my K'nex Screamin Serpent Christmas Coaster. I honestly told myself last year was the last time I would be doing this, but once my son came along, I figured I have to keep the tradition alive for him. This year is by far the most advanced design I've ever used. And I utilized about 90% of all my pieces, this is also the longest track length I've done yet. If you have any questions, feel free to ask...and if the music sounds familiar, yes that is the song from the new iPod Touch commercials Enjoy and Merry Christmas!!!
Vffreak07 Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Very innovative! I love it! My favorite part has to be the drop midway through the ride.

Well, I apologize for the frustration with TPR TV but remember that the system is still in "Beta Testing" which means there are going to be bugs and other problems. The reason why I opened up TPR TV for live Beta Testing is so that TPR Members can help me to fix the problems, not complain about them, and quite honestly your post reads more like a complaint! All that hard work I've put into something only to have someone bitch about it, on Christmas no less, when it's "complaint department" isn't technically even open yet. It would have been really nice if you could have given me what steps you went through to so I can try to re-create the error or our programmers could re-create the error in an effort to fix it. The only major issue we seem to have right now is the session time out issue and we are working on that. So any more information would be very helpful. Oddly enough though, I was able to upload your video to TPR TV on the first try. Which makes me even more want to know what steps you want trough so I can re-create the issue you're having... MisterP Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Very nice video, but I have a bone to pick with the OP. From one Italian-American to another, "Dego" is not the correct spelling of the word. "Dago" is the correct spelling. Dego is a province in northern Italy, so unless you are from there (which, seeing you live in California, I'm guessing not), you are misusing the word. If you're going to use an ethnic slur as your user name, at least spell it correctly...
DegoRed Posted December 25, 2008 Author Posted December 25, 2008 Sorry Robb, didn't mean for it to come off that way. I was trying to explain it, but I was a little frustrated cause I really wanted to have it uploaded by Christmas. As far as why it didn't work. On my mac I tried using Firefox and Safari, and it would take me to the page to put in all the info for the video, but then when I clicked upload, it would just refresh that page. Once I switched over to the PC, it would upload and then say it finished uploading and then timeout. I tried this 3 times. So not sure what issues I was having, but thanks for taking the time to upload it for me....Merry Christmas

Actually, I spell it like the wonderful Italian wine...I don't have it in front of me, but I'm pretty sure its dego not dago
ajinaz Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 First I'll jump in to defend DegoRed. It's kind of odd that this came up on Christmas day. When I lived in Philadelphia the father of a friend always served Dego Red. I am positive about this as we would get to take a bottle or two home after the Xmas eve party at their house. They were Italian and pronounced it with a short "E" and not a long "A". Back on topic. I loved the video. I wish I had the patience that you obviously have. I have built a couple of the basic K-Nex coasters and they are a bit more complicated than they look. I always walked away and left my daughter to finish them. Good job!
The Alex Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I remember only doing the smaller version of the regular kit, and then quitting it. Question, can you give me the name of the song please? It's catchy :] Thanks! And Merry Christmas!
DegoRed Posted December 26, 2008 Author Posted December 26, 2008 ^ Watch the video to the end, it's in the credits.... but it's Around The Bend by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour
