CHILLERLC1 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I'm going to Wild Adventures in Valdosta on Sunday. I'm not really excited to pay $45 for a Vekomafest. Did anyone in the Southeast see coupons for this park or not this past summer?
crazydaveh Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I drove through Valdosta last weekend and I remember seeing some discounts on Wendy's cups. I don't remember anything about them, but that they were there.
I love DW Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 You could always just buy a 2009 season pass for $69 so you could go the rest of this year and next year!?! And if you looked ahead of time I would have bought the $29 Phobia and Bottomless Coca-Cola wristband that you can ONLY get ONLINE if I were you: http://wildadventurespasses.tix.com/Event.asp?Event=161989 Also by looking online it looks as if by getting the $45 day ticket you get the second day FREE, so really that is not a bad deal at all! : http://wildadventurespasses.tix.com/Event.asp?Event=160714
larrygator Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Common sense dictates that someone from New Jersey is unlikely to spend 2 days in the Valdosta area. Nor is it likely that someone living that far away would need a season pass or have any inclination to visit WA twice in a lifetime.
I love DW Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 ^First of all I have not been to the Valdosta area so I don't know what is there. When asked for special prices or coupons I looked at there website. Plus I don't know who the person is so I really don't know if they may be on there way to visit someone and just passing through (hince will be back through again on return visit home) or what. So I just was trying to help. Plus by listing the phobia ticket deal with Coca-Cola it draws attention to the fact you should ALWAYS check the park site weeks before so you can get special online deals.
ParkTrips Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 AAA had some savings, otherwise, you'll just have to bend over and take it like a man
CHILLERLC1 Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 Common sense dictates that someone from New Jersey is unlikely to spend 2 days in the Valdosta area. Nor is it likely that someone living that far away would need a season pass or have any inclination to visit WA twice in a lifetime. You nailed it right there. I was there this past Sunday; quite humid, spitting rain. I was screwed over with the "Cheetah and Hangman closed today" sign at the ticket window. I took my loss and went for what I could. I was already there and not going to turn back. Gold Rush and Fiesta Express were even closed. I went to a Wendy's before the park open but that was not yet open as well. The employee outside told me so. I'm not sure if he was being too nice. So with the hour I had at Wild Adventures I contemplated going to SFOG 3 hours away. That would make for a 5 hour drive back to Gainesville. I just went back to Gainesville and watched the EAGLES and Phils game at a bar with my brother. I had to do the "visit my brother" part of the trip as much as I like coasters. I even heard Mindbender was closed but I just read that it reopened. I want to go back to see my brother next year so I could go to SeaWorld and ride Manta and Shamu Express. A return to BGA or IOA would be on my radar. I don't think a return WA would be worth it for a Vekoma SLC and a wooden hybrid that doesn't get high marks as much as I always want to get more credits. Maybe if a season pass was just a few bucks more plus my purchase credit for the present day. I just wasn't thinking that far ahead in the moment and wasn't convinced. I thank you for everyone's help.
BeemerBoy Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Watching football at a bar (heck, even in Gainesville) > walking through the turnstiles of Wild Adventures.
Swimace Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 (heck, even in Gainesville) Don't hate on Gainesville just because we dominate in everything! Although lets not forget that according to ESPN Wild Adventures is in Titletown USA, whereas here in Gainesville we are inferior in athletics.
CHILLERLC1 Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 My waitress at Hooters had awesome blue eyes so I liked my lunch viewing football. I guess I didn't go to a real bar for the first EAGLES game I watched. Later at another bar next to Gumby's Pizza where I watched the Phils they didn't have Miller on tap on pitcher night! Grrrrrr. So yeah, that was my first and probably only Wild Adventures visit. Just watch a get a bug to want to get those other two coasters and then really regret it later. I left my ticket that I just used with my brother and told him what's up. Maybe he could avenge me.

The only good thing about living in G'Vegas, which I did for five years and no, I didn't go to UF, is that your're less than two hours from the parks in Orlando and or Tampa.
CHILLERLC1 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 If G'ville was a Mercedes Benz logo it would be right smack in the middle with WA in the north, Tampa southwest, Orlando southeast, all just about a 100 miles away in each direction. Hence, I jumped on this even though I didn't along with my brother too well and I had a Southwest coupon I couldn't just waste.
