Reality15 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Hello everybody, I'm planning a trip to Six Flags Great America this upcoming weekend for the opening night of Fright Fest. We have our tickets and everything set to go, and have enough money left over between the four of us to get a four-person regular Flash Pass. I'm just wondering how exactly they work. I did a forums search, but it seems like a lot of the threads are from people who at least are usual Six Flags people, whereas I've had a Cedar Fair season pass since 2000. I know that you reserve your spot in line at the rides, but I still have a lot of questions. If anyone could help me out by answering these questions, I would REALLY appreciate it! 1.) How many rides can you reserve on a regular Flash Pass? I've heard everything from only one ride on a regular pass to up to four rides. 2.) How long after that time is up do you have before your ride time expires? For example, if we reserve a ride, and it's time comes up as we're out in the parking lot eating lunch, is it going to expire if we don't get there by a certain time? 3.) How do you reserve rides on the Q-Bot? Do you use the thing itself, or do you have to go to the ride entrances to reserve your spot? Thanks guys, I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say about these! -Jon "Reality15" Roost
andy_e219 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I say do not even get a flash pass. The park is normally dead this time of year.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 This time of year parks are usually dead. Save your money for churros.
natatomic Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 If you do get a Flash Pass, they're pretty simple and self-explanatory once you have one in your hand. Plus, they make you watch a video, AND they give you a small pamphlet on how to operate them.
robbalvey Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I say do not even get a flash pass, I was at SFGAdv eariler this summer and I rode all of the coasters, some multiple times as well as a good number of other rides without a flash pass in 1 day. Take my advice, don't even bother wasting your money. Please do not take this advice! First off, he's not even talking about the same park you are going to! Secondly, you are going opening night of Fright Fest and that means you *could* run into some big crowds. Lastly, think of the Flash Pass as an "insurance policy." Meaning that if you have it, it means no waits in any lines at all (or very little), if you don't have it, you could end up waiting in long lines. You just need to ask yourself "Is it worth the money to not have to wait for anything..." You could also go to the park, see how packed it is, and then decide to get it later in the day. However keep in mind they do usually sell out on busy days. As far as how they work, it's dead easy. Imagine you had a list of rides on your cell phone and it told you the current Flash Pass wait for each one. You just simply choose the one you want to go to next and it queue's it up for you. When your time is ready, you go to the ride. The new Q-Bots do not require you to go to the ride first to queue them up. It couldn't be easier! Good luck! --Robb
DBru Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 ^Is there a limited number of rides, or will it work all day, no matter how many times you "queue"?
