lucazferrazCBMR Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Thank you all for paying atention to our parks down here. We'll be pleased to receive you in Brazil and go the parks with you. Please, feel free to visit our website www.cbmr.com.br (all in portuguese). We'll be glad to answer anyquestions you have. Last picture: Beto Carrero and I, the first time I visited the park.
verticalzero Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 All of the ride colours and landscaping is wonderfully done. A very relaxing place to visit
lucazferrazCBMR Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 As I sad before, feel welcome to Brazil! Anytime you want, TPR could organize a coaster Trip in Brazil together with CBMR. It'll be a huge pleasure for us to show you all coasters we have here. They're not really many, but all the parks are very neat!
montezooma Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I am interested to know where the Intamin Free Fall was relocated from, do you know? Geauga Lake? AstroWorld? Thanks for sharing pictures of the park. The Rapids Ride looks GREAT! -Shane
lucazferrazCBMR Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 This free-fall is being in the park for about 10 years, I believe. So, I guess it didn't come neither from Geauga Lake or Astroworld. But I'll check it for sure for you!
eder2002 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 LUKAS YOUR ENGLISH IS VERY GOOD ... MY IS TERRIBLE ( HORRIVEL ) KKKKK COOL YOU POST PICTURES OF OUR DISNEY WORLD BYE
kenshinmac Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Looks like a really nice park. Honestly the rapids are nicer than most parks I have been to. I honestly wish some of these places weren't so far flung. BTW I hope your first experience on the SLC isn't too painful. Just one thing. Please post multiple pictures in a single post instead of one per post. It is much easier to read when all the pictures are in one post instead of spread over several pages.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Sorry about the pictures in separated posts. I just couldn't understand how to put all of them in a single reply... It's not gonna be my first experience in an SLC. I've travelled abroad and I also did live in USA for one year, working at Six Flags Great Adventure. BTW, no experience could be more painful than TOGO's Viper!!!! lol I rode some SLCs and it's impressive how they can be great in some parks and absolutelly awfull in others! And I believe that happens to all Vekoma coasters. The Boomerang at Playcenter (São Paulo, Brazil) is perfectly smooth. In other hand, the one in Parque De La Costa (Tigre, Argentina) is a headache machine! If I'm not mistaken, Hershey's Sidewinder is also a death devide, isn't it? It's been 6 years since I've been in USA for the last time and I've been to many parks, so I get confused with the production-line-coasters, like boomerangs and SLCs.... Still trying to find out where our 1st gen free-fall came from...
kenshinmac Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 If it really was about 10 years ago is it possible it was California's Great America? It seems like it might have been about that long ago that they changed the freefall for the drop tower. I doubt it is right but it is at least something to look into. Honestly so far I have only had good SLC experiences in exceptional circumstances. I have had great rides on SLCs after rain and the like. I wish that more would put the new restraints and seats in because after riding them they really make a big difference. As I said before the park looks great. I hope that it continues to prosper.
kraken613 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I would really like to ride an SLC with the new restraints! I think they could improve the rides dramatically!
lucazferrazCBMR Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Some more pictures of the construction. Underneath the whole coaster there'll be a lake. Pictures taken by Felipe Melo and Cassiano, members of CBMR. I'm still checking on the free-fall question
lucazferrazCBMR Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 The coaster is going to be on an island and there'll be a shallow lake beneath the entire track and a water fall beneath the lift hill. Looks like it's gonna be pretty cool.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Hi, for those where curious about the origin of the Intamin 1st generation free-fall, I just got the reply from the park: The free-fall came from Paramount Great America, in California.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 To see a little more about the park: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=zc7OygjJv54
lucazferrazCBMR Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Another one: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=iCE9g8P2dN0 pretty cool and shows more of the rides.
Ccron10 Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Sorry about the pictures in separated posts. I just couldn't understand how to put all of them in a single reply... Still trying to find out where our 1st gen free-fall came from... I wouldn't call Hersheypark's Sidewinder a death-device, but I wouldn't ride it more than three times in a row. If you ride it once, it's ok, but after the second ride, you start to get a headache. It seems like you got a really nice park there. The paint job on the SLC looks great.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Yeah, I agree sidwinder is not that bad, but It's definitly not as smooth as other Boomerangs. Particularly, the one at Playcenter, in São Paulo, Brazil is quite good. In other hand, the one in Parque De La Costa (Buenos Aires) will give you a headache on the firts run. I would really like to understand what makes one boomerang different from the other. I know the restraints at Playcenter are a little different from the ones at De La Costa, but they're not different enought to make such a difference on the ride. You think it could have something to do with the kind of maintenance they do?
montezooma Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Thanks for getting us the original location of the Free Fall.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 My pleasure, Montezooma! Anything you wanna know about the brazilian parks, just ask. I'll do my best to find out the answer. BTW, did you know the largest rollercoaster in the country is called Montezum? \o/
